Got my hands on the standard edition finally. The dumb Gamestop guy thought it didn't come out for another 5 days lol. Then he came out of the back with a stack in his hand. That made me smile :)

They don't handle non-tuesday releases well.

When you said SE, I thought Square-Enix and that Tanaka was going to pop around the corner.

Game officially released today and what do people get, another 4 hour maintenance.... Good thing it’s the first month free, atm it’s just like a paid open beta with a 4 hour maintenance every day, cheers SE!

I love that they do maintenance while I am at work. Matter of fact it ends an hour before I get off, great job!

maintenance is good. it means they have caught a problem early instead of letting it crash the server and cause instability.

When there's only one day so far, referring to it as "at the moment... every day" is a tad disingenuous. I'm up for criticizing SE as much as almost anyone else on this release, but be fair about it.

Well the last 3 days, i guess i didnt actually start playing until about 5 days ago so 3 days of it just seems abit much. Glad they are sorting things out but i thought it would have made more sense to have 1 a week than everytime they find a problem, otherwise this could go on for quite some time.

You sir have crossed the line. You have dared to question the all powerful, benevolent, all knowing SE. I, for one, am offended and demand that you completely recant the malicious slander that you have so callously thrown against those on who we depend. If you fail to do so then there will be dire consequences I assure you.

We are all waiting...

At long last, a breath of fresh air. I just don't understand how people can refer to something occurring on a regular basis "at the moment" This is apparently a logical contradiction.

I have actually heard people use this fallacious way of thinking when they refer to the fact that they are having to work for 80 hours a week "at the moment" Don't they get that this cannot be the case? One cannot refer to something occurring on a daily basis while simultaneously maintaining that this situation is predicted to last for only a short while. If we allow that sort of thinking what comes next? The ramifications are truly frightening and could have dire consequences on the entire fabric of our society.

I, for one, thank you from the bottom of my heart for setting this poor, misguided fool on the right path.

I think that because the game is still new and so many people are actively playing now some game breaking bugs and glitches are being seen that need a fix asap. I'm sure it will slow down in a few weeks. At that time we'll get a somewhat scheduled maintenance time.

hopefully :P

Honestly I don't really think there has been an unacceptable amount of maintenances for a launch like this. Despite the awful menu system and the fact that the game's missing tons of basic features... I think this week has been pretty **** clean, server wise. comparatively anyway.
