In FFXI being in a party really made no sense until you were LV 8 or higher. Then you could go into your "second zone" with a couple of people and work your way into common party spots, like the dunes.
I don't want to play an MMO to solo everything. If that's the case I'd just pick up a single player RPG. It ticked me off in FFXI when I was using my DRG and everyone was like "just go solo that" Sure I could have, but the idea (at least I thought) was to play along side other adventurers.
I'll admit that I was getting worried reading here how people are getting so high in rank & level and being in a party is useless. Sadly I can't play till it's on PS3 in March, but the idea that I have to wait till March to hear "just go solo that" again wasn't making things any better.
I'm glad to see that being in a party is starting to work out. I'm excited that someone said higher levels are geared towards party play, and I've heard from people I know IRL who are playing that grouping is fun and has benefits for everyone when done right.
The more I train, the harder I get. The harder I get, the more lethal I am. The more lethal I am, the fewer opponents. The fewer opponents, the less to lose. The less to lose, the more I let up. The more I let up, the more room for mistakes. The more room for mistakes, the more I train.
