I want to know what is the general feeling of this game between SE customers (actual or potential), so far we have had rants, facts, complains and prices for the game but if you ask me, I honestly can't tell what is the actual average opinion on the game.

So let's make a POLL to find it out, however I'm not a premium member so if any of the premiums can give me a hand with this I'd really appreciate it:

What is your opinion of the game:
I bought CE/SE and I'm generally satisfied with the game.:49 (62.0%)
I bought CE/SE and I'm not satisfied with the game.:22 (27.8%)
I haven't bought the game (for any reason) but I believe it will satisfy me if I buy it.:2 (2.5%)
I haven't bought the game because what I have read/seen of it makes me believe it won't satisfy me:6 (7.6%)
Total:79

The idea is simple you can only fall in one of those 4 categories, I also hope people can let us know why they feel in that way, try to keep it short though, thing of it like a huge post with a last tl;dr just skip the huge post entirely.

The game could be good or not, but what really matters to make a purchase or keep paying the monthly fee it's only your opinion about it.

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Ken

Edit: fixed the horrible misspell of the word "poll", keep reading to find out why

Hopefully this one won't take five minutes just to open and log in.

keep in mind the word "generally" in the options. nobody thinks the game is perfect in its current state but i personally am generally satisfied. id wager theres quite a few people who vote unsatisfied but theyr not going to cancel their accounts, so you might as well throw their votes to the satisfied category. if its good enough to justify paying a monthly fee then id say your pretty satisfied, at least for the time being.

I'm reasonably satisfied, I only have a few gripes that are to be expected with a brand spanking new MMO, which I'm hoping will be sorted out in the near future, one is the menu system being quite delayed and tedius to navigate, the other being the difficulty in finding mobs quite often than not when grinding, mining, fishing and botany system are fun at first but after a while they start to get annoying and time consuming especially for a game that has casual players in mind, and last the general slowness of the game overall, I think (and hope) these things will be fixed so I'll hang on in there, if they sort these things out I'm spent.

i think this is party of whats wrong here. xiv has casual players in mind and there are functions in place to cater to them, but the game as a whole is very slanted to the hardcore playerbase. we talk about things like the fatigue system and subconciously think theyv dumbed things down, but the reality isnt that cut and dried. xiv is still a long and sometimes tedious grindfest, and before anyone gets mad at me i do not see this as an insult, i appreciate this aspect of the game.

How about a new option...
*I bought two copies of the game for me and my little sister, they're both sitting on the shelf collecting dust until I see the servers stay up for more than 48 hours without one of them crashing.

Anyone get the email advertising FFXIV today? It said , "Crafted to accommodate the widest variety of play styles". I think they accomplished this. You can play casual, and still accomplish a good bit. You can play hard core and still accomplish a lot, (albiet likely by levelling multiple classes, but hey that's what I like to do anyway). I don't think very many people are going to find it a perfect representation of their ideal mmo, certainly not this close to launch, though for me, it's probably the best mmo I've played in a long time. To me it has the same kind of feel as WoW had when it launched. It's considerably different from everything else that is out there, and gameplay is very enjoyable (to me). But as far as the game not being perfect, I don't think there's much out there in this world that people can't find complaint with if they're in that mindset.

I am, however, happy to see that the clear majority of users are at least generally content with the game, I know I am. But you know what they say, the squeeky wheel (critics) get the grease (attention).
