So the subject title is pretty self explanatory. I'm debating on picking up FFXIV and I'm curious about my system specifications and what kind of issues I'm liable to run into. So here they are.

Processor: i-7 920@2.8ghz
RAM: 6gb OCZ DDR3 Memory Triple Channel
Video Cards: 2x nvidia gtx 260's w/ approx. 3684 total memory.
mobo: evga x58

What kind of performance could I expect with this particular kind of setup, if anyone could offer an educated opinion?

appears to be more than sufficient. maybe not max settings but will net you a more than enjoyable experience as far as graphical quality and minimal lag goes.

This one time at FFXIV camp I tried to get a 3 person party going, but just ended up as a Disciple of the Hand.

You will be able to run it okayish. It won't be ultrasmooth or anything and you won't be able to max graphical tweaks either.

I think you'd be better off with a 460 or a 470 than a pair of 260s, but it looks good as-is, too.

Mikhalia: and FWIW, my posts are 95% helpful, informative, or funny.
Mikhalia: only 5% or less of my posts are utter crap.
Tyapex: 393 posts of utter crap...
Mikhalia: Sounds about right.

I was going to use that particular subject, Elandred. However it didn't really seem prudent, as that topic is for posting and discussing how it works with the rigs in question. As I don't have the game, it defeats the purpose, unless you intended that I use it for comparisons? It's difficult to say without further elaboration on your end.

Ah, alright.
Thank you very much for the extra information, sir / mad'am.
And my apologies if I was coming off as unnecessarily aggressive.
My basic intention for the time being is to be able to experience the game without any major issues in performance or lag until I can upgrade my video cards. I benchmarked my rig last night on the FFXIV program and got a 3875, so I imagine I'll be picking it up today.
