Mining/gathering Fatigue {Found it}Follow

So I've just popped out of a serious mining binge. Spent basically all my playtime mining today, got from lvl 14 to 18, about 600 wind shard's worth of mining just so you miners can imagine. I was out there so long i had to start dropping NQ stacks of items to start replacing them with more +2 +3 stacks of things.

Anyway. Things were just fine and dandy, until the last couple thousand exp to rank 18. I approached a mining point, one of thousands today and in the last week. I pulled out my axe and did the first strike as usual, got the 'big bling' i'm on the right spot. And then, the depth slider came up...

Hmm that's weird i didn't finish that item. I checked the log and saw that somehow i had "damaged" my sea sand in one hit, same message as when you keep missing the mark until 'hp' runs out. This also can happen when mining on a point way above your ability. Weird I thought... But I went on mining.

Couple strikes later the same thing happened. First strike, hit the right area, boom, item damaged/fail immediately. This kept happening once in a while, i figured it was a bug.

That was 1 hour ago. and by now 90% of my strikes immediately damage the item i'm after. This can even happen on the 2nd "final" strike which would usually get you the item. This behavior ramped up at a clearly increasing frequency over the last hour, now I can't pull out a copper ore or a silex, all critical fail on 1st strike except a lucky few.

I'm sure if i keep going soon this would reach 100% within 30 more minutes.

So yeah, clearly they have a (i hope daily) gathering cap on mining.
You can keep failing for 1/2 SP gain, but you won't get any more items or shards.
Also this basically is an exp cap on gathering classes, which means those classes are not only limited by the weekly surplus allowance, but also a virtual (hopefully) daily SP limit.

Just wanted to post it up since I may be the first here to have hit it.

Guess I gotta wait for tomorrow to cash in on those lovely lvl-3 points' SP.

Start the countdown for JP midnight! Reminds me of fishing up your 200 fish or digging up 100 pebbles for the day... You zoned and came back, right?

Yes in fact i had zoned and logged out all throughout the day, running other errands and changing areas. I also spend some time on PUG fighting off aggro etc.

Any word when these people saw the fatigue come off? If this is weekly, it's gonna be super lame.

That is interesting to find out that there is a "fatigue" that isn't visible. It doesn't really surprise me. It doesn't really bother me, either, since as the OP admitted, this only happened after a long "serious mining binge." If you mine long enough to get 600 wind shards, go from 14 to 18, and have to drop NQ stacks of things in favor of HQ's, fatigue seems logical.

I noticed the same thing! Glad I'm not the only one.

It's happened to me on Btn. I let it sit for about 16 hours or so and did some crafting with all the mats I had and it was gone. Not saying that's a definite time frame but that's my experience, happy gathering Smiley: grin
