The updates for xiv tend to take a bit of a while. At least for me when I installed it seemed as if my download slowed down quite a bit near the end, they use a torrent style download for the updates and I think that they set it so when it nears the end it limits your download speed and increases your upload ammount. Though I could be wrong so dont quote me on it.

Have you opened up ports on your router?

Its a known thing that the downloader sucks....

So far i did all the bigger download with a torrent, then placing the file in the right folder. Just start the download, cancel it, do a search on your PC with the filename. There you should find a torrent file. Use it with UTorrent, then place the downloaded folder in the right place.

Maybe ZAM can post links and make stickies because I downloaded patch 1 through Megaupload and once that downloaded in about 30 minutes I was on the game 10 mminutes after. You download the patch and place in my docs/games some where in there you will find FFXIV and the patch file you are replacing. Once replaced load updater and it runs fine. It downloads some more updates quickly and after that I was playing.

Run Config and turn down your settings so you get in quick to make sure it runs fine for Graphics and away you go.

If my velocity starts to make you sweat, then just don't
let go
