Can't Party with newbiesFollow

Since there are 2 levels, physical and rank level. Rank level changes as you swich jobs, but physical level stays the same.

Now, if my friend just joined the game, he is physical level 1 and rank level 1, and I decided to level a differnt job with him, so I whip out my other rank 1 job, but then my physical level is still at 15.

Now when we take on beginner mobs, I am getting little or laughable exp. Yes, I am getting rank points, but my experience points suffered.

Am I correct? Does this system mean that it is counter productive to party with newbies? Has anyone tried it?

You would get the same amount of xp as they would... it would just be less meaningfull to you because your xp till next level would be so great. All it means is that it will not be the most efficient xp per hour but you still get to have fun with your friend and get just as much xp per hour as they do.

Anytime you start leveling a new class, (killing lvl 1 mobs with a lvl 1 class) your not going to be making much of a dent in a physical lvl thats way higher. That wouldnt make a whole lot of sense.

You must make a difference between class level and physical level.

if you are Phy. level 18, and you start lets say conjurer lvl 1 with you friends, its sure that you wont get mutch Exp for your physical level, but your conjurer level should raise, eatch time you interakt in the fight. Even if you only heal , you get Exp for your conjurer

I am sure over time SE will implement a Rank/Level Sync.

But to be honest EXP is not something you hugely require at that level it is RANK points. The fact you get any EXP is a good thing though because on FFXI you didnt. They would be Too Weak. I have gained about 2-3 levels through doing low Rank jobs and I am about 15 I believe in Physical level. 2-3 Levels might not seem a lot but when I have 3 jobs Rank 10 its great to get EXP when doing low rank jobs.

Actually, after about 20 physical levels, you will stop getting ANY physical exp from lowest level mobs. @Phys 22, I don't get phys exp from the lowest level mobs (but I still get rank exp if I'm on a low level class.)

I imagine that around phys level 29 or so, you won't get any physical exp from stuff around R1 camp.
