Some of you might not notice but a lot of people are stuck in surplus even though they shouldnt be.

At R10, green mobs give ~150SP, at R20 they should give about 350, and yellow should give about 500.

Although this is not happening.

Someone posted on their lodestone blog they found a solution but didnt post what, they are also not online, so I am asking here if anyone knows?

Where did you confirm the number of Skill Points you're suppose to receive from Green Mobs? When you receive Surplus XP/Skill, it will tell you in your Chat Log, IIRC.

There is definetely a problem, I am only getting 75-85sp for each fish regardless of whether it is a grade 1 or grade 2 and the general SP I am getting from mobs is lower than when I was r10, as I mention this to people they have realised they are still stuck in surplus even if it isnt as bad as before it reset it atleast has not completely reset.

Unless you see "You receive x bonus skill points" in your log after you kill/mine/harvest/fish/craft, you are NOT in surplus.

You are not suppose to be in surplus but there is still reduced SP and it is not due to the 1st 8 thresholds, it is very low.

yes I have seen that, I dont think you guys understand. This is a bug. I am fresh out of fatigue and I just got 150SP for a yellow nanny goat at R19.

Are you saying you're only getting 150? or that you're only recieving 150 out of some higher number that you earned? because mobs arent worth SP, actions have a chance to generate SP, and have nothing to do with the mobs. SP drops off for everyone at higher level.

SP doesnt drop off, it increases the harder the mob is albiet a slower rate of what is needed to reach the next level.

Eg:
R1 mob 150sp, tnl 4000.
R50 mob 2000sp tnl 10,000,000

I am saying I am only recieveing 150, and I dont believe mobs arnt worth SP, harder level mobs have a higher chance of granting SP than lower level mobs and are suppose to give more SP each time, and I have observed that they have an SP cap. For example crabs which are hard to kill wont give 5x the amount of SP as say fat dodos which die in fewer hits.

If you use a low level weapon and put all your points out of Str or whatever and hit a mob more times than usual, it wont give you more SP, but 2 shot a mob and yes you will get less SP.

Every1 can rate me down all they want I really dont care, but I was right when I got rated down for correctly explaining the synthesis colors and I know I am right about this aswell.

I don't know if that is a bug but I think it happens to all of us. Exp doesn't scale up with mobs like that for me, and it never has. I consider getting 150-200 SP on a mob to be decent exp - and it is really about all I expect. I wish it weren't so, but it is, at least for me.

This bug is hard to notice for the player because naturally SP tends to stay the same because of the way fatigue works, the more you grind the less SP per mob you get, but you must remember the few times where you were getting 300-400SP per mob, so why isnt that happening again now that fatigue was reset.
I would have doubts aswell which is why I never mentioned this yesterday but this pretty much confirms it anyhow: http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/rc/diary/entry?e=22595

Another thing is my Fishing has never went yellow, when I 1st started I was getting about 150-250SP each fish caught, in beta I remember getting much more SP at R12. But right now I was getting 75-85SP for each fish. I did a fishing GL, invoked GA, logged out and back in multiple times, and now my SP went up to 100-110 for each catch but I dont know how to actually fix this problem, it was only a slight improvement.

im 90% sure EXP is -not- meant to scale up. In other words when you have 100,000 tnl you will still be getting 0-300 sp per fight. Fighting blues will usually net you 100 - 200 on average, greens 200-300 and yellows 250-350. Also gathering seems to be approx 100sp per success for the rest of the game.
Enjoy the grind....

edit: to the person who posted the journal article: 250-300 per mob is -viable-. You need gear + a weapon that matches your level, and you need the -RIGHT- mobs (and there aren't that many of them). Also the mobs that give you 250-300 tend to wear down your weapons durability -fast- (ex, after 5000 exp). Then it becomes much more difficult to get sp.

I get between 20 and 150SP for green and yellow mobs at rank 19. 1 out of every 50 might give up to low 300's. Each proc is usually 15-40SP. It does seem like there is something that goes increasingly wrong the higher level you get. I'm not sure if it's a bug, gear problem, or artificial road block SE has intentionally set up Ninja style. Sub-10, blue mobs that die in 4-5 hits give 50-80SP procs and generally 50-200SP totals. With TNL's increasing exponentially, there is no way this will be considered reasonable or acceptable once more people start hitting this roadblock. It's a shame we're still beta testing the game, people have lost a lot of time to this.

huh was duoing blue jellies last night and got 100-200 SP on each. That is what I consider to be normal exp for a mob we can burn through.

Dude as many people have said mobs don't drop SP, to say that a mob gives you X amount of SP is just silly. I've hit a single mob 20 times before I ended up with 0 SP and then hit the same kind of mob right after only 5 times and got 200SP, everytime you hit a mob you have a random chance of getting x amount from the mob and based on how many times you get the sp while fighting him with determine how much SP the mob will give you in the end point blank.

Skillups are random just like they were in XI. The other day I was doing a few leves, and I went 2-3 before getting any skill. On the 4th mob, I got close to 500. I don't understand why, but my best guess is that skillups are randomized. The -amount- you get when you do skillup, however, increases as the mob's level that you're fighting increases.

They are random, I've been killing Thickshell for quite a while now and SP gained fluctuates from 200-500 (it seems it's capped at exactly 500).
