I started FFXIV today and i hoped on a new game after 2 years stopping with the old FFXI that i played for 5 years.

And now i started FFXIV with first a dead slow update of over 16 hours :(

Than i had to register the game where i end up with a click to buy company what i totally don't want.

And after that came the character customization that is so outdated,so 90's with very limited possibility's,people are used to much better with the new mmo's that are around now with every character is unique to what every person wants to see in it.

After that comes to choose the server you want to go on,people of SE its in tease days normal that you have a little description with the server you go to and what national people like to go there.

After going to true those disappointment's i finally logged in,and yes there comes the good part the beginning looks great with the cut scenes just great especially the cold shower you get after that.
the map "Jike" where did they have that one from, out of FF2 or something?
The characters are looking OK in-game,movement is exactly as crappy as FFXI,you still cant jump swim fly or all the other things you couldn't do in FFXI.

Than there came my first mob,had to target it with my tab key "Shivers" and than as melee class i could attack it when i was close enough with my "1" key as pressing 1.....1.....1`.....1.....1.....1.....1 and the mob was dead, than unequipped weapon so you can wait till your hp is on 100% again and than to the next mob ................ **** cant find a mob ............. nope still no mob around, don't have some sort of scan or what ever, what can you expect with a map that is 20 years old so that was the end of my mob clubbing adventure so i thought lets go chop a tree.
You can guess it,chop ....................................... chop ......................................... chop..........omg...........chop,no wonder SE decided to make the leveling easier with this speed you need 20 years to get to max synthesising.

SE,before you brought this game out you said that you where building on this game fore 5 years where you only being busy with meetings and drinking sake and coffey?

SE was always great at building games that where outstanding, games that people had to play because the game play and battle system where way ahead for there time, and now you come with this,a copy of FFXI with some better graphics and a crappy movement system and crappy battle system.
This is in my eyes a game where lots of MMO players come in(that is what MMO'ers do,always looking for the perfect MMO)and most of them will be gone within a month,or going back to there normal MMO or to FFXI where people already have everything they want included all the possibility that are there.
And the graphics, well play a week FFXI and you don't know the difference.

is there anyway a way to get my €45 back that i invested in this game?^^

I find nothing valid in your complaint. You always have updates when installing a new MMORPG, the download times are probably your problem, (It only took me an hour. I fixed dinner and cleaned up and started playing.) You're not going to start out with a lvl 500 Warrior Mammoth in ANY RPG so don't be upset that you're a little bored coming off of 5 years of FFXI. You're going to have to play a while to get used to the controls (they aren't exactly intuitive but they're not terrible.)

If these truly dealbreakers for you, I suggest you never get another RPG and stick with FFXI.

1) search for port forwarding in this forum to speed up your updates.
2) This game isnt meant to be a grinder as far as i know, all classes including crafting and gathering increase your physical level.

STFU with thie ******** about this game already -- everyone knows it needs work. Everyone already knows whats wrong with the game. Either stick with it and see it through or move on to a different game. We've all blowin cash on a game we didn't like before so get over it.

Try read a post before you comment it.

I said that SE came out with saying that this would be a brand new game with feathers that havent seen before with a brandnew gameplay and than you can expect something better from a company with so mutch experience on online games as with FFXI that was and still is a great game.

See if guildwars 2 or diablo 3 also will be this crappy.

and when you say they know of the flawes in this game the missing of a AH and the other mistackes wait than for 6 months to bring this game out and get the mistakes out and put a good player system and housing system in(anyone found the moghouse btw?).

this game looks like a beta game where you have to pay a full price for with also the extra €3,= a character whats not realy from this time.

Better to nag in a game so they do something about the problems than to side tide and think i dont like it but it will hopefully getting better after 550 updates, and one guess in what timezone will the updates be???

Dont want to be mean but its really annoying. Its a new game! Everyone is signing up! And yes it is annoying not finding mobs.. but try harder.

I think what Myefoo was saying is that they expected a bit more from SE. I think a lot of folks did. If you see constant complaints... maybe that is because there are problems.

I do not own the game, and have not spent money because I have seen enough complaints to stay away for now. That being said, for those who have not, but had great expectations:

Get used to disappointment.

Every MMO starts out on the shallow end. Mainly because the idea that the Devs have isn't what you have for a game. It takes time for them to bring it into line of what the customer base is asking for and still holding to their ideals for the game.

Most MMOs that I have played recently have very minimal customization (WoW and LotRO are the biggest.)
EQ2 had alot of customizing, but saying that every other game isn't limited is a lie.

So what if you can't jump, swim or fly. Most MMOs don't have flying without being on a mount. Then you have to dismount to do anything and they generally don't give that option right at the beginning. Jumping .. eh I can deal with it. Swimming, where do you want to swim? The ocean?

**** cant find a mob

First day after release, it's gonna be hard to find stuff. Take a small break for about 2 days and it should pan out a bit. Also do some Guildleves ... this spawns mobs specifically for you to kill.

Don't know about you, but I play both FFXI and FFXIV ... the graphics are alot better in XIV. There are some similarities but overall FFXIV has better graphics (best for an MMO that is out right now even.)
Of course that's all opinion.

In closing it seems you don't enjoy it. No most stores will never refund your cash for a computer game, especially one that has a CD key that is "used up" on registration. Suck up the lose and quit playing a game you intensely hate.

I have a question.
I i hit my skills, it can sometimes take some serious time until they go off.
So, i am thinking there of WoW, you click, you get it in ms...
I guess it's supposed to work so here too? Or? Or not? >.>
Those Slowga battles are annoying me, how long will take it them to fix that?
