I know there are a lot of people that hear only negative thought on this game. I wish to give 5 reasons why i like it. Whether you do or not, is up to you.

1. STORY. I have played 2 of 3 story lines so far, and i find them pretty interesting. I can't wait to see how they evolve.

2. CRAFTING. I really like the mini-game style crafting system. It's in depth, and complicated. When i make 12 bronze nuggets, i feel like i accomplished something. I am actually looking forward to creating some awesome gear.

3. GRAPHICS. The game is beautiful. Nobody has argued that. The detail is amazing.

4. CLASS SYSTEM. So, i'm running along as my lvl 4 THM, and i run into a wolf! OH NO! What do i do? I switch to my main (MAR) and proceed to kick it's azz! I didn't have to run to my mog house to do that.

5. POTENTIAL. This game is this good right now. It has the potential to be one of the greatest MMO's ever. It is light years ahead of it's time in thought. We just need thought to catch up with reality.

We all know this game has some flaws, but it has some great potential. Let's hope the devs see it that way too.

P.S. This thread was in response to This thread.

I've read a lot of feedback on the game so far (Since I can't play till it's on PS3 all I can do is read about it or watch my PC friends play) and so far I seem to hear to main complaints.
1) You can't ________ the way you could in FFXI

2) There is no AH.

I think that your 5 reasons far out weigh those 2. Granted I can't say much for the first reason. I'm not fully being blind to spoilers but I am trying to keep away from details if I can. But All your other reason (especially #5 IMO) are dead on!

6. partying is encouraged if not mandatory pre-endgame

7. the degree of difficulty is ensuring the mindless troll noobs who's only goal in life is to make everyone elses worse will get weeded out fairly quickly

8. thinking outside the box for what are mostly standard features in other games (crafting, repairing, bazaars)

9. selecting the degree of difficulty on leves is awesome :D i love that customizability.

10. a hundred more things i cant list atm

I agree, the game is good right now, and it has more potential than any other mmo I've seen so far, by quite a wide margin...

I can understand other people wanting to wait until the game is more developed to play though. I personally am enjoying the game more than enough now to keep paying for it. I sure hope SE is able to keep delivering on this game the way they want to, and it sucks to see so many people giving the game bad reviews...

Speaking of that, yes, the game has some bugs, and the ui delay could use some work, but the vast majority of the game is a hundred fold better than the other mmo's on the market, so I really don't understand why the reviews are so bad. Anyway, I'll keep paying for and enjoying the game, ***** the reviews... I hardly ever agree with them anyway.

Crafting is by far my favorite thing in this game. But it's not just because of the mini games. There's just something about walking through the markets and hearing the sawing of wood, or the banging of hammers on anvils that really helps to immerse you in the game.

Reviews are based on other people's opinion, not yours. Of course, you're not the only one agreeing that the game is good right now. I'm with you plus many other users :) See you in Eorzea everyone!

Honestly, that's pretty weak. Nice graphics, a "pretty interesting" storyline, and some nice ideas with completely borked executions is what this game is made up of. Sure if they streamlined the whole game, and got rid of the obvious bugs (which are right in their face), this game would be top notch. As it is though, even you're having trouble coming up w/ a decent list?

Weak list? I think that's a pretty strong list personally. The fact that the bugs are 'right in their face' as you put it means that it's a matter of when they will be fixed rather than if.

I dare you solo a 1 star Wight leve being rank 13-20. Oh yea, without having physical level 50, of course.

Crafting is addicting, very addicting. Before Beta, I didn't plan to do any crafting at all. Doing beta, I plan crafting as my sub job to support my Lancer job. Doing pre-release till now, I become a main crafter D:
