Maybe I missed the info or maybe it's a bug, I dunno. Any way I was wondering if any one else gets the Limit message when trying to wear more than 6 items (Rings, Bracelts, Earings, and possibly necklace)...

You'll notice in the armor window-cluster, there's a small number that displays 0/12 with no accessories. It seems each one you add takes up 2 points so you're maxed at 6 accessories atm.

Actually, it's a slot count. If you look at the info on your item, you'll see a note, "2 slots" (or whatever). You can only equip a total of 12 slots of stuff, even if you have an empty space to put something in. This seems to apply to earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings (all the small "accessory" spaces).

So it only counts accessories and all the accessories that exist right now seem to take up two "slot" points.

So why was there a need to correct my post?

I absolutely hate this system of limiting accessories. If you are going to make that many accessory slots available, I want to equip something into all of them. I was extremely unhappy when I tried to equip the extra copper ring +1 I had made only to find out that I had reached my cap and I now had a useless accessory somewhere that I had to remove/sell. If you only want people equipping a certain number of accessories, only make a certain number of accessory spots! /rant off

Thanks for the responses, while I'm sad that I wasn't doing something wrong... at least I know I wasn't doing something wrong.

*EDIT* BTW I'm trying to figure out why I got defaulted on this thread, I did a search and no matches came up. Oh well, such is life at Zam ^^

On the contrary, I like this better. In FFXI you had only two ring spaces, and there wasn't such a thing as a bracelet space. So you could only have five accessories: two earrings, one necklace and two rings. In FFXIV you can have that and still add one more thing. Or you can have it arranged differently: you can have four rings if you want (I currently have four bone rings).

Because there almost certainly are items that aren't two slots that we haven't gotten a chance to see yet, or there will be shortly; otherwise they wouldn't have done it this way.

I made a post about this in the feedback section the other day. Feel free to give it a look if you've got any opinions on the subject, one way or another.

I actually like the idea. Yes you can only wear so many pieces but these items are now viewable on your character. I think the main purpose was anesthetic more than anything.

Which is absolutely lovely. Sad part is, when you're fully geared up you don't see anything of your nice jewelry anymore. Sure, it makes sense, still sad though! Anyways...me likes goldsmithing so far, might end up as my main profession. Actually seeing the result of your hard (or not so hard) work in the form of visible shinies is what really made me feel good, even if it's just cheap copper stuff. Same goes for visible belts and the like, by the way. I just totally fall for that kinda stuff, and missed it a lot in FFXI. =P

What I try to say is, it doesn't really matter to me. I didn't even notice that there's a limit to be honest. But it won't irk me much, shinies are yummy either way. =3

I completely agree with this statement. The fact that my shinies are now able to be shown-off I'm one happy camper.

The higher level rings take 4 slots/points.

It's a ridiculous system, in my opinion. There's nothing game breaking about 5 accuracy, so why is there such a restriction on it?

That's odd, I searched "Accessory Limit" and got nothing. Maybe I was only searching the general forum :( I usually overlook the Feedback forum unless I'm really bored ^^

Could there be a quest later on to increase your accessory limit? They might be thinking about something like this.

As it stands now, it's almost better to equip 2 of a certain lower level ring than one of the higher level rings.

I don't really know how all this will play out later but I'm going to keep track of it.

That would be one way for them to do it, it would be kinda cool if they did a parody of the Gobbie Bag quest. It would also explain why some of the higher level acc's cost more points which would limit you to only 3 instead of 6... Assuming there's something like you describe in game or on the horizon.
