So Overall this game the MMORPG is about repeating the exact same thing 100s of times and doing levequests in between

Fixed it for you.

Welcome to the genre, by the way; some of us like to grind to get things, I wouldn't like it any other way.

It's not even close to any other MMO, there aren't any real quests. They have daily's that reset every 36 hours...

Or you could swallow your pride and NOT grind. Maybe do some crafting just for Gil. Or for a friend? Go out and explore? Coerthas is really nice. Just socialize? There's no reason to hit the level cap as fast as you can, you will just burn out. And even of you don't you'll get to the endgame and get bored because there's no more grind.

If grinding isn't doing it for you then don't grind!

Ok, I'm only physical 9. But personally, I'm enjoying making gil.

I haven't spent any yet. Haven't taken up any crafts. But I'm sitting pretty on 80k after 2 days playtime (probably 7-8 hours worth).

I know I won't get too much out of the game for a little while. But I have friends from XI on the server, and when partying's sorted out you can be sure I'll be looking to make new friends.

Grinding is fine... but don't rush.

Welcome to Eorzea. Enjoy the ride, it's not a race...

So far, I don't really care for a lot of the actual gameplay. At Physical level 22, (And multiple crafting, gathering and fighting jobs between 8 and 14) the majority of my time spent in game has been hanging around with my Linkshell, crafting and doing guildleves, and honestly that's fine. It's not great, ****, it's barely good... but I do enjoy hanging around with those guys.

This is where square keeps telling you that this is am mmo and they want you not to play it solo. Grinding: You want to grind so you can do content that gets released with your ls mates etc. Leves: You want to do these in groups to help out friends and get some extra exp while your whole group gets to make fun of each other for doin dumb things and have a little fun. Crafting: you get to help other people and they help you giving a cooperation feel and at least a temp goal of getting someone x item. Gathering is the same idea. So overall the game is about advancing a group of people making friends wasting time with those friends and hopefully soon some better content will be released to give you better goals and more reason to do the same. SE has already introduced a few things that weren't known to be in the game that are interesting at least. I'm sure much more is coming.

Exactly, this is why no one is shouting for parties or is even responding to any people which do ask for parties.

Open your eyes, group play is just not happen at moment. At least no random grouping like in FFXI or any other game which was released after the year 2000.

So don't grind even though that is the only real content currently in the game? Instead, go walk around aimlessly just to look around? That might be content for you, but that isn't doing it for most of us.

And just socialize? Seriously? No wonder SE hasn't advertised the game. The commericals would go something like this:

"What kind of things can you do in the game?"
"Lots, you can walk around and look at different kinds of trees. Or you can even stand around in one spot and talk to other players just standing around as well. And if that's not enough, there is likely to be more in the next 6 to 9 months!"

It has been fairly well documented that socializing among strangers in FFXIV is exceedingly difficult for a number of reasons.

Its difficult to socialize with anyone, not just strangers - with chat logs losing cursor focus every 3 seconds.

27 PHYS and it is getting a little slow, the guldleves are only good for low level exp but some good rewards. I do enjoy the crafting that is what keeps me here.

Physical level 22 and loving it.

Some people who want to hit the cap in 2 weeks will hate this game....HATE IT.

But for those of us not in a rush who are happy to spend the next two years enjoying the journey and working towards the cap, its great!

These days, I play my highest job (lvl 17 conjurer) in experience point parties and love it. When i cant find a party, i play solo with other jobs or mess around with crafting.

I have 5 or 6 jobs at 10+ and am loving the journey.

If you want to cap immediately - there are some other fantastic MMO's on the market for you!
