When I went to pick up my Copy, there were at least 5 people in the queue with a copy, they had ran out of their first batch too. I got to the counter and the guy said all the people behind the desk (4 of them) just started playing the game.
I bring it up to work with me since I got the copy before work. 3 People I work with said they're playing it at the moment and like it. I start work (I work at a Pizza Hut...!) and serve a table, who happen to have the game lying there on the table. The woman told me she loved the game, and her and 3 of her friends were all starting together.
I later serve two more tables who both had a copy tucked away in a bag.
Now admitidely I do work in a shopping mall where both places are under the same roof, however to put this in context, I only ever saw about 1 guy with a copy of Halo: Reach. These numbers may seem small, but I'm only one guy, and I found it kind of weird if I'm honest, seeing so many people holding the game. It's also a feeling of community too I suppose. For all I know I could be playing with these very same people right now and not know it.
Oh and in case you're wondering, this is in the UK. And well, both FFXI Wings of the Goddess and Treasures of Aht Urghan sold out pretty quickly in the 3 game shops in this mall.
Maybe I just live in a Final Fanasy crazy place in the country, or maybe it's like this everywhere. Feel free to share any sightings you had of people holding the game.
