I've been reading about them for a while now, but I noticed that no one was sure about what happened when it expires, like if you have to buy the full game anyway for a cdkey or if you could simply continue on by just paying the monthly fees.

Well, I sent an email to Square-enix support center and this is what I got!

Dear Customer,

Regarding your request for account support. Please find your answer below.

Thank you for your interest in FINAL FANTASY XIV!

The Buddy Pass that is provided in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Collector's Edition acts like a full game of FINAL FANTASY XIV! Once the 30 day free trail expires, the player using the Buddy Pass would be able to continue on the Buddy Pass account as long as they pay for access onto FINAL FANTASY XIV. For more information, please refer to the Official FINAL FANTASY XIV website at www.finalfantasyxiv.com.

Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.

Seems like a good deal <3

Also out of my own curiosity I asked about Character Deletion if I ever stop playing for whatever reason. Sadly I couldnt get a straight answer for it :(

Unfortunately we do not have information regarding that at this time. Please visit www.finalfantasyxiv.com for further information.

Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.

Some people say, they are not deleting anything anymore but since it's not confirmed I tried anyway~

P.S: Since I wont be able to buy the silly game atm cause im short on cash and im REALLY bored atm, got nothing to do... I've pretty much accomplished everything I could on WoW even got silly Ashes of Alar and the time lost proto drake for god sakes...

Anyone has a spare buddy pass lying around that could share with me? :) If so please send it to me through PMs, Id greatly appreciate it.

Anyway hope the information I got helps!

So, basically CE buyers got 2 games for the price of 1, in addition to all the shinies. I knew it was worth the cost of an extra meal or two.

UGGGH... So instead of waiting and buying TWO standard edition copies of the game for my sister and I, I could have just been selfish and bought myself a collectors edition and we would have been better off in that I'd be playing a week early AND have CE goodies AND not have to pay for the other copy of the game.... *bangs head on wall*..

It could be that where they say, "as long as they pay for access onto FINAL FANTASY XIV," they mean pay the cost of the game on top of their subscription. Like being charged $49.99 + $9.99 for their first month, rather than simply being able to pay for the subscription.

If not, that would mean they're offering the game for free... which I can't see them doing with it being brand new. That's generally an offer that comes along far down the road.

But if that is what they're doing, expect to see buddy codes being sold, rather than being given away.

I did specify that in the mail i sent them, "Would I have to pay full retail price along with the monthly fee to continue playing or could i just simply pay the 13$ for the fee"

So unless the person who replied to me is not sure, or its free.

and also @ sidicas: this is exactly why I decided to talk to them first, cause I was saving for either 2 normals or 1 CE for me and my brother, but we were not sure about how it worked.

But yeah now i only have to save for my brothers game :) or for him to get a buddy pass aswell, either way.
yay
