Leve Reset Timer AppFollow

Greetings Users of ZAM.
I made a reset timer app for my LS and it is at the moment in a working state and as such i have decided to release it to the general public for larger scale use.

Please note that this 'app' (for lack of a better word) does not violate FFXIV TOS as it does not interface/interact/read/use/ or in any way access FFXIV files, it is a standalone windows based timer that will run on any XP windows PC with or without FFXIV even being installed.

The Below is all copy pasted from my LS forum - Thanalan Alliance
I Reside on Gysahl, My character name is Zeddicus Nhekhara.
I havent made a Readme file for this but all you need to know is in the post below.
Enjoy

-------------------------------------

Version 1.0.1.2
Date:
07/10/2010
Download From:
http://www.mediafire.com/?vbrh57sz80bzpgu

Update Log:
-Changed the output of the reset time tooltip to include minutes so that the timer did not omit/round up or down, the time display to the nearest hour.
This will not affect anyone whose offset is a whole number such as UTC -5 or UTC -10. It will only affect those whose offset contains a variation in minutes such as UTC -5 hours 30 minutes, or UTC - 3 hours 30 minutes, etc.

To Install:
Before you start make sure you exit the old version of the timer if it is running. Then simply download the new file, unzip it, and run the setup.exe file.
You do not need to uninstall the old version, it will be overwriten.

Comments:
Please post about any further ideas or if you discover any functionality problems. Im also open to suggestions on other ideas for useful FFXIV apps.

Version 1.0.1.1
Date:
07/10/2010
Download From:
http://www.mediafire.com/?d4dsdpd2qhszjmf

Update Log:
-The previous version's code for daylight savings adjustment did not work for all timezones, particularly for those in GMT -1 to -12 regions. This has been rewritten to work with (hopefully) all timezones.
-The startup form 'Form1' no longer stays open in the Task Manager or in the Alt Tab list. (Thanks to Crevox of Eorzeapedia for pointing it out)

To Install:
Before you start make sure you exit the old version of the timer if it is running. Then simply download the new file, unzip it, and run the setup.exe file.
You do not need to uninstall the old version, it will be overwriten.

-------------------------------------------

Version 1.0.0.10
Date:
03/10/2010
Download From:
http://www.mediafire.com/?8q1qb37m7jqhudh

Update Log:
-The timer disregarded whether or not you were currently experiencing Daylight Savings. Sections of code were rewritten to take this into account.
-The pop-up bubble tip had one last tweak and was tested to work flawlessly (for now)
-Removed the unneccessary spacing in the GMT/PST pop-up bubble tip.

To Install:
Before you start make sure you exit the old version of the timer if it is running. Then simply download the new file, unzip it, and run the setup.exe file.
You do not need to uninstall the old version, it will be overwriten.

Version 1.0.0.9
Date:
02/10/2010
Download From:
http://www.mediafire.com/?yuh5b6mq9p65s85

Update Log:
- *sigh* <_< once again the pop-up bubble tip (that is suppose to display a notice when the Leves reset) was not functioning properly, This is hopefully now fixed.

To Install:
Before you start make sure you exit the old version of the timer if it is running. Then simply download the new file, unzip it, and run the setup.exe file.
You do not need to uninstall the old version, it will be overwriten.

-------------------------------------------

Version 1.0.0.8
Date:
02/10/2010
Download From:
http://www.mediafire.com/?dr7njzdppgk5rdu

Update Log:
-Changed the timer reset to an hour earlier than previous versions (Yet to confirm if this is the case) (Thanks for the heads up Mariya)
-FIxed a bug that made the reset message appear at the wrong time due to a disregarding for the AM/PM format. (eg if reset time was suppose to be 10pm, reset message would show up at both 10am and 10pm because it didnt know which was which.

To Install:
Before you start make sure you exit the old version of the timer if it is running. Then simply download the new file, unzip it, and run the setup.exe file.
You do not need to uninstall the old version, it will be overwriten.

Download From:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ojh87ob061p804t

Update Log:
-App timer now properly updates itself within 1 mintue of the system clock reaching midnight
-A Bubble tip will show up from the system tray icon when the leves reset
-The App shortcut in the start menu now shares the same Icon as the system tray icon
-Double Clicking on the system tray icon will pop-up a bubble tip which shows the current GMT and PST time so that you can more easily work out when maintenance starts based on the GMT/PST time given by SE (thanks for the idea hardstyle84)

To Install:
Before you start make sure you exit the old version of the timer if it is running. Then simply download the new file, unzip it, and run the setup.exe file.
You do not need to uninstall the old version, it will be overwriten.

-------------------------------------------

Edit: 1/10/2010
- The app doesnt update itself to show the new time once your computer clock passes 12 midnight, this is a bug and will be fixed shortly.
-In addition, ill add a little bubble tip that pops up to notify you when the scheduled reset time has elapsed.

-------------------------------------------

Version 1.0.0.2 - Original

Hey peeps,

If anyones interested I coded a small app that runs in your system tray. When you hold your mouse over the icon it will display the time/day of the next 2 leve resets in your local time.

For added coolness i made the system tray icon the same as our LS pearl design (Green with gold stripe) B) (see below)

[IMG=http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/9701/32606495.png]

The download is a zip file, just unzip, install the app and you'll see "FFXIV Leve Timer" in your startmenu.
Itll only run when you open it manually from the start menu of course but if ur like me and want it to sit there all the time just add a shortcut to your start menus startup folder so it starts with windows.

Its very cheap on resources too so no worries there (Practically negliable),

Heres the link anyway.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PAJG4JFU

Finally, this was made assuming that the reset timers will always be constant. If they get changed I will need to update a variable in the app and repost its update.

anyway... enjoy :P

Comments and suggestions welcome, i havent been able to test it on any PC but mine, but it should work on any XP or later machine with .Net Framework 2.0

Be very weary of downloading this, for the first the poster has no other posts, for the second it's very simple to buy an app that has a 100% FUD (fully undetected) crypted virus to inject into an app like this.

Just so you know c0d3r, I am also part of this linkshell. As far as I can tell, this program has no viruses, it runs in the taskbar, and it has the linkshell icon in it. I understand if you have some trust issues, but there is no virus. Plus it works great :-)

Its all good Estur. Thanks for the defence
There is good reason for not trusting many things, a foreign user made program usually one of them.
Perhaps users that have downloaded and installed it can confirm its purity of purpose.

ps. please leave comments or suggestions about the app :)

And lets pretend you take a few days off and lose track of whether it's resetting in the morning or night? What do you do then? Sure, it's not hard to keep up with if you're monitoring it every day, but not everyone will be.

Exactly my point, and main reason for making it. Im more of a casual player, made this for my own use, and decided to share with my LS and other FFXIV players

I will be adding this to my sidebar gadget this week, see my sig if you want to know more. I also have a logitech g series app that displays this information on your keyboard (also linked in my sig).

Write it in C# and you're halfway there!

Yes, Windows 7 is fully supported and is the environment it was written in.

As for programming in C# my programming skills dont extend past vb.net
