I wonder just wondering the amount of guildleve in this game. Let's put the standard quest/mission aside.

I am only level 10-12 in most classes but isn't there about @ least 5 guildleve per level 10 ish range? Assume there is, that 50 guildleve per city per crafting class and here is 8 crafting class so 400 crafting guildleve per city? total of 1200 guildleve?

Battlefield craft have about 5-8 that being randomized per 10 level range per city wise as well. So that would amount to somewhat 75-120 battlefieldcraft and 3 fieldcraft per job per every 10 level that would amount up to 45 per city so 135 field craft in total?

Let's just round all that numbers down and we have roughly 1400 guildleves available in total! Not even counting factionleves as well.

If it is true that we have a winner here since World of warcraft claims to offer 1000 quests (which i never able to find that many to begin with).

Of course, FFXIV's guildleve are pretty much the same (kill X this and craft X this).

what are u? a level 10 in WoW ? lol

ur too funny, but i will help u

if u open ur Achievements UI, go to quests tab.

achievements there are hard but possible

so for Vanilla wow, 700 quests for Kalimdor and 738 quests for lorderon

for Burning Crusade 541 Quests in all outlands

Wrath of the lichking 618 quests.

and all the above is with a requirement to achieve "The loremaster"

and Daily/weekly quests are not counted in there, and not counting the extra quests that some ppl cannot find, not only that, there is another achievement for a title "The seeker" require to get 3000 quests done.

I think it's also worth mentioning that even if FFXIV did have more quests than WoW (why are we even making a topic about this?) quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality. If you haven't noticed, a lot of FFXIV's quests from one nation are just copied quests from the other one. "Baderon's New Chest" becomes "Momodi's Sturdy Supports." These quests are also copied to other professions as well. "Baderon's New Chest" becomes "Baderon's New Clothes." And it's not like these are each separately and carefully designed. Sure, maybe there's a bunch of "Collect 10 spleen" quests in WoW, but these quests at least had some thought put into the flavor text and MOBs and specific locations had to be created for these quests. In FFXIV, you go to the exact same NPC for all these copied quests.

Battle leves are little more varied, but it seems like the majority of your estimated number comes from crafting leves.

No, no they didn't.

(WoW has an achievement related to completing 3000 quests, so there's definitely more than 1000.)

From what I've seen the levequests are basically an excuse to boost the normal exp you'd get from gathering/killing stuff, with a little flavour text, and a time limit to add some tension. They are kind of all the same, but I dunno if it's the fact I have a countdown--they still manage to be pretty fun, for me at least. That said, they also feel somewhat like the "dailies" in WoW that literally are the exact same thing every single day (forgive me the comparison, WoW's what I know). The similarity of them all kind of disqualifies them from plot-related relevance.

To me the real quest is the storyline one, though. I'm really enjoying the feel of immersion caused by being inserted into cutscenes, and the levequests, compared to that, are grunt work to help me level. Wonder how many of the storyline quests there are.

Conversely, neither does having a few mean you're getting quality. This is never more apparent than in FFXIV.

Just like FFXIV. I don't understand why people are so adamant in having cool flavor text for quests, nobody reads it. Nobody.

Nobody.
