Sorry but the questing system in this game is just way beyond boring. I got the CE on the 21st and started playing, everyday I am just doing almost exactly the same quest over and over. I try to quest in Ul'dar and Limsa, all the quest is too similar and really going back to same area killing same monster everyday. This game started out great for the first 2 days, but it just getting way too boring for me.

Except the actual quests haven't even been implemented into the game... only leves have, and those are just there to give you extra gil/skillups.

I guess I did. Normally I more enjoy reading the forum instead of actually posting message. However, am I really the only one who thinks the quest in FF14 is not killing similar things over and over everyday?

its the same as any other questing system except square doesnt pretend your doing something new today. in xiv you do a 'gather 5 coconuts' quest over and over every day. in any other game you do a 'gather 5 peanuts' quest today, a 'gather 5 apples' quest tomorrow, a 'gather 5 cherries' quest the day after and so on. square just chose not to insult our intelligence by disguising 1 quest as 100.

Slightly paranoid, are we? He's just telling the truth.
Honestly, sometimes I feel like grinding in a group for hours wasn't that bad after all.
A bad sign, in my opinion...

If that is true, that is a pretty **** poor launch on SE's part.

MMO's are all about quests (immersion, lore, fantasy, etc), leaving them out intentionally is pretty... stupid.

Not intentionally. Just to finish before some other big MMORPG/Expansion shows up.

Say what? Guess I must have hallucinated those three storyline quests I did, then.

You literally cannot miss the first one; you *start the game* instanced in it.

I sure hope that's not in defense of SE.
Releasing without real content is something even "the best game on Facebook" games know better than to do.

Has it been confirmed that there are quests they haven't implemented? I got the impression it's just going to be story quests, guildleves, and class leves.

Sometimes it is nice to do different things, kill different mobs, etc.

Sometimes it is nice to kill 5 rabbits today, but yet tomorrow, kill bears until I get 5 bear pelts, and the day after maybe they want me to kill 10 skeletons and pour acid on their bones to permanently destroy them.

Variety is good.

Repeatedly doing the same quest over and over again, makes it look like another (in)famous game's "Daily Quest" system, and I tend to get bored of Dailies very quickly for the same reason.

At least they are trying to mask it with Random Dailies, but even at that, it still gets old after awhile.

Still though, a little variety would be nice.

Endlessly Grinding mobs (FFXI), though, was not fun in any sense of the word. After the 20th kill or so, its "Ugh... how many more of these do I have to kill? 5,000 of them? Oh God, shoot me now"
