I fell for it last week, it promised all kinds of useful info such as the best attributes to train, best builds, best leveling places, etc. It has none of that. It contains barebones information that I myself learned after a few hours of playing in beta. It contains basic info just copy pasted practically from the early closed beta test. He even copy pasted the closed beta forum 1-30 skill list for all classes.

Check out the advert I saw for his guide, i took a screenshot and linked to it above, it's a new advert. Want to hit level 50 in a week? lol? Make tons of gil? Er no doesn't have anything on that. The best pvp strategies? FFXIV HAS PVP? LOL!

Or buying from such a shady looking advertisement. The fact it is talking about PvP in the ad should have been your first clue.

Why pay for what you can get for free in the first place? Seriously the internet is your guide to just about anything in the world.

In before 'You wouldn't download a car' - but I will agree, paying for a 'guide' of any sort in the past 10 years is hilarious.

You should put the .PDF or what ever up on a file share program and have search engines link to it. Have it hosted on a webpage for everyone to download for free. Beat him at his own game.

This has nothing to do with stealing, but the fact that people create FREE guides all over the internet. I assume that's what the person was implying by free, not stealing.

I saw that advert long after buying the guide. It just highlights the sham going on here.

You're at the place for all the info you need to play XIV. There are so many experts, both members and admins alike, you will never have to pay for a guide. Plus you don't have thousands of members to ask about things not covered in a "guide", like you do here.
Aside from the database, wikibase, and forums found here, there are links to other helpful sites . Trust me, no one out there selling guides knows more, if they did they wouldn't be "selling" guides.
