I've had a debuff for days now....

Recently equipped gear causes discomfort, diminishing its properties.

Can anyone help me with this? Ive searched on google, even on these forums and haven't found any threads about this.

The only 1 sighting Ive found about this is 1 post and 2 replies, believing its a bug and that was on sept 29.

What level is the new item you are wearing? You could be below the Optimal Level for the new gear. I think someone else mentioned that wearing too high level gear can bring up that debuff and leveling to match the optimal level makes it go away (not 100% sure tho)

Perhaps you're chafing. Try to stay dry, keep hydrated, using a lubricant and wear the proper clothing.

All the stuff I am wearing is all classes or the job that I have equipped.

I have not equipped any new gear recently.

My friend thought the same thing. Maybe higher level gear is causing it, but he is wearing like lvl 16 gear on a lvl 9 job and he does not have the debuff.

Also, he is wearing that is not recommended for his job.

Ive only seen one other person so far that has gotten this debuff, and he didnt know how he got it either.

My self and a party member got this same debuff, but it happened after changing gear while weakened. It wore off around a minute after the gear swap though.

Could be that it's a bug, and the debuff got 'stuck'. Have you tried unequiping everything to see if it goes away?

I have this same status at the moment, and I have not been able to rid my character of it for a few days :( it's the little blue symbol with a sword, correct? I hope that somebody will be able to help us out and figure out what the heck it is!

It does glitch out sometimes - it's also to prevent gear swaps (that everyone and their mother complained about having to do in XI) during battle. If it sticks it definitely bugged out.

Should definitely report it to a GM/support center unless they changed what the discomfort it ><

Glitched, indeed.
I've been told you have to change gear during a fight again to "reset" the debuff. If it wants to work propelry, it will wear off by itself after some time (2-3 minutes?) If it still doesnt work... keep trying.

After my gear hit heavy damage, I got a message saying "Your newly equipped gear is no long uncomfortable" So it seems like you just need to break it in a little bit.

My friend has the same problem, the blue gear icon or whatever. He reported it but they told him they don't give tip or hint on how to play the game >.>

I'll tell him about the heavy gear damage repair thing and see if that works for him.

Those gimp suits can chafe a lot if too tight, or the wrong sort of rubber has been synth'd. Try a +1 version.

Wut?

I LOVED having a sub-set of gear for WS in FFXI. One quick macro and you gain a massive amount of +STR for the WS, and then macro back to your +acc/haste for DPS and replenishing your TP.

On my mage I juggled elemental staffs (staves?) to match my spell type, then macroed over to my MP recovery gear as the fight dragged on.

Gear swapping in battle was not necessary for all players, but it was very beneficial to the people who put the time and effort into their macros.

Didn't we all, though it was a bit embarrassing to blink like a Xmas tree during gear swaps as you thought of your mages losing target. That was of course some time ago.

I got this debuff a couple of times actually. I recieved it from switching clothing items or whatever (anything but weapon cause you can't change class in combat) while my party was in combat. It wore off shortly after though.

Some foods do the same thing. It appears that your character may like and dislike certain things in the game. I ate some food once that i found to be disagreeable lol.

This debuff is caused by changing armor while you or a party member is in combat. You can try to reenact the debuff by changing equipment while in combat and hope it wears off as it's supposed to after a while outside of combat.

Not sure what else you can try.

Ok i add the same problem.
Thank you to SE for not been able to help me, after 5 tickets, 2 chats with CS and 1 bug report.

So yes the trick to remove.....is

No need to be in party.
Get in combat in try to change you armor while in combat, its a bit hard to do, but after 3 or 4 try out, i manage to change my gear and the debuff was gone !

Thank for the tips, hope this gonna help !
