They all do the same damage honestly.

Pugilists punch makes it seem more interesting, but quite frankly, with the miss/evade rate, it's really not that much dmg..

Marauder, Gladiator, Lancer? All the same damage with different weapons.. Tell me, how is a sword on par with a god **** great axe or lance? The purpose of 2H weapons is longer delay with higher base damage.. In this game, not so much.

Conjurer, Thaumaturge: When solo, spam spirit dart and the occasional cure to keep yourself topped off.. Throw Spikes and Stoneskin in when you get it and you've got the point.

As it stands, no class has any benefit from the other, they all do the same damage with different spell animations.

Sadly enough, there isn't a damage dealer. Literally every class hits for the same. The bad part about mixing abilities is that it just makes every class pretty much exactly the same. Something needs to change. Lancer shouldn't be hitting for the exact same as gladiator. .

I leveled Marauder to 10 after I leveled Gladiator to 10, and Marauder hit for at least double damage per hit than my Gladiator. I suppose it could have been from the extra stats from a higher physical level, but I doubt it would double my effectiveness. Both level 1 weapons too.

As for abilities, they are nerfed when used on a different job. And while they're all pretty similar now I'm sure we'll get more job defining abilities at higher ranks.

Besides, playing the "Best DD" game this early is silly. As soon as someone finds a way to exploit a job's damage capability SE will nerf it and that job will no longer be the best DD. So play a job you enjoy.

If you have like 20+ physical, rank 10 is a total joke. You'll crush things you were getting mauled by before. It was probably that.

You were not hitting for double. I am physical rank 25. Level just about every job to 10. Never was there a difference between the damage. Stats cap so having a high physical level doesn't do anything at a low level.

For instance: Rank 10 Mar >> If you have any stat past 50 then everything past 50 is completely useless. I only know the stat cap for level 10. Now at level 1 I'm sure it's probably 15 or so. So no matter how high your stats were it wouldn't make a difference on your level one.

That being said, You still were not hitting for double. That is blown way out of proportion. Gladiator's attack power on the first sword is 36. Attack power on Marauder is 40 for its starting weapon. That you will hardly see a difference what so ever. Not only have I leveled every job now, but I still have not seen any difference.

All the same. Archer you're just throwing money at them instead lol. I don't think we'll see a huge damage difference until way later in the game. When weapons have huge differences in attack power.

No one knows, so it's a fruitless question to begin with. People aren't even sure if doing omghuge damage is even a good thing at this time.

All classes to different types and styles of damage.

Gladiator: The most defensive of the classes and can wield a shield.

Marauder: Can attack multiple enemies at once with ease.

Lancer: Decent crowd control and some support abilities.

Archer: Only form of "Projectile" damage and can stand far to avoid dangerous moves.

Puligist: Very good evasion abilities and can double as an evasion tank.

There are some overlaps, but for the most part this is what is boils down to. Sure lancer can attack multiple mobs with TP attacks, but only Marauder can attack multiple and gain TP off -every- mob it hit at once.

One of the Lancer guild skills is a no-cooldown line aoe like their TP attacks.

Even still. AoE moves are worthless. Take into effect that there are level 30 mobs walking around with level 1 mobs. Bad idea. Also 5 star leves? If you go in there and whip out your AoE move then your **** is just going to hit the ground faster. Then 4 min weakness and after that you realized your party already finished the leve because you tried to go in there guns slinging. AoE doesn't make a job a better damage dealer.

Worthless now, but maybe not at higher ranks. Having multiple AoE attacks will be helpful since square is pushing the "Notorious Party" aspect of the game, rather than just one bad *** Notorious Monster. My whole point of the previous post was just to post the differences between the jobs, not to say X class is better than Y class because of Z.

And yes, I am aware that Lancer has that line-of-site TP building attack, but as I was saying, Marauder has a lot more AoE weaponskills than all the other classes.
