Things that need to be fixed ASAP!!Follow

Okay guys, I'm new here so I can only assume most (if not all) of these issues have been talked about before but I need to vent a little:

-First of all, how is it that you get a bigger pay off for crafting than you do for fighting? It makes absolutely no sense. Not only if the pay off much bigger but fighting exp is gimped as all ****. How is it that an enemy who **** near kills me sometimes gives me less than 100 exp for my current class!? Also, grouping is almost always a nuisance compared to soloing as your exp is greatly cut. I was duoing with a conjurer last night while he constantly healed me so I could kill some orange gauged Galagos but he was barely getting any exp compared to me so he quit shortly after we started. SE needs to fix all of this FAST. I can't believe they would release the game with such a glaring problem in it. It takes me HOURS just to rank up and I'm only at rank 17!

-Secondly, the enemy gauging system needs to be worked over. Sometimes I can beat the snot out of a yellow gauged enemy and sometimes I get wrecked...They really need to make an enemy's power level more clear to us.

-Thirdly, gear damage is RIDICULOUS. I don't even see why it was implemented in the game. All it does is add frustration. It doesn't add challenge to the game, it doesn't require skill, all it does is make us waste time, money and materials. Just to rank up, I have to repair my harpoon about 2-3 times. This is gonna RUIN party play in the long run. People having to leave the party to repair their gear and situations similar to that are going to happen A LOT unless they decide to fix this crap.

-We need an auction house. I don't care what anybody says, the way the market currently works is horrible. They're going to have to add an auction to save us all a ton of frustration.

So far, it almost seems as though SE didn't want us fighting in the game. It's like they threw in battles as a side thing you can do if you want. Instead they've focused on crafting so **** much, it's ridiculous. I bought this game to grind with a team of friends, level up and get stronger and move on to bigger, badder enemies. Instead I'm stuck soloing and having to craft for a ridiculous amount of hours just so I can make some decent gear and solo some more. Get your asses in gear SE, you've got TONS of work ahead of you...

Stop your sniveling. Apparently you're a refugee from WoW or EQI/II. This game is different, nothing is handed to you on a platter. If you played FFXI you would know that's how SE works. They want you to discover things and then share that discovery with the rest of the player community. This game (so far as I can tell, anyway) is not your typical "level up and get rad gear" kind of game. It's about being a well-rounded adventurer and discovering things. I played EQII for 1-1/2 years and got totally bored in that time. Took me 5 years to get bored in FFXI, and I suspect it may even take longer in this game.

You don't like the fact that crafting and harvesting give more exp that grinding mobs? Too bad. If that's your cup of tea, go back to WoW and suck your thumb.

Considering that this is a brand-new release, I think SE did a great job overall. It's way more bug-free than EQII, and that game has been on the market for years. Are there things that are frustrating and need to be adjusted? Sure, but that will happen with time. I, too, miss the auction house/broker, and I especially miss in-game mail. Maybe these will be included with later releases, maybe not. I do know that SE is doing everything it can to discourage the RMT, botters and other cheaters. And I like that. Compare that to Sony who doesn't give a **** even though their Terms of Agreement forbid that.

If you like challenges, this is a great game. If you like the run-of-the-mill MMORPG, it won't be for you.

"WAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! WAAAAAAAAA!!!!1 WAAAAAAAAA!!!eleven!!!!"

<_<

edit: Wasn't intended for OP I was pointing to the poster above.

Gripes are fine and so are opinions. If everyone just sits around and doesn't express their unhappiness with the game who is going to know about it? No one.

Although the OP post is better suited for the SE forum. But hey maybe he already shot a post there already.

Great Attitude to have towards newer players man. This games already becoming the laughing stock of the MMO community right now and attitudes like yours will completely seal this game into the dumpster. Yes his points have been voiced already but honestly, the only way SE will take their heads out of their asses is if enough people complain. There are obvious things that need to be changed for this game to succeed. The "If you don't enjoy it don't play it" attitude makes no sense to me. If you want a game with almost no population, then keep up that attitude. More and more people are realizing how hastily launched this game was and how almost nothing that we wanted fixed in Beta was.

Keep in mind that the main focus of this game isn't really combat, and you have one thing left that would actually be a good addition: the auction house. At bare minimum, we need a search function for retainers, and we need it soon.

go back to WoW and suck you thumb? what'd that come from?

I'm a longtime ffxi'er and I totally agree with the OP...the game is a soloing nightmare...
I wanna camp with friends and level. This BS isn't what I signed up for.

c'mon guildwars 2

I have to side with the OP as well - a lot of his points are very valid. The one thing that doesn't bother me *too* much is the the enemy gauging system, although unpredictable it doesn't hurt the overall game too much at least compared to the other issues like no AH + horrible market system, etc. Not to mention stuff like lack of auto-sort which really boggles the mind.

I really like other aspects of the game which is why I am still playing in hopes that they will address these current *major* issues. I like the revised crafting system despite the few frustration there that need to be ironed out - particularly the lag and number of UI menus you have to go through to do a synth. The way the gathering/crafting classes have been integrated is unique and enjoyable so far for me. I like the "leveling horizontally instead of just vertically" philosophy that seems to be behind the grinding system. And making stuff instance-based is a huge step forward from getting away from the "waiting 4 hours for a mob that might spawn once a week" nonsense that was one of the biggest flaws of FFXI imho. Anyone else get really annoyed when doing a crafting leve that after every single synth, you have to start all over from the top menu and re-select the leve you're working on, etc. etc.... ? The UI menu system in general and lack of hotkeys for basic functions like opening your inventory is quite frustrating.

A lot of the negative opinions currently voiced about this game are 100% valid. Yes there are some mindless incoherent bashers out there, but there are just as many mindless fan-boys here who'll defend any game that has Japanese anime-style cat-girl in it regardless of the quality of the game.

If I were to summarize the current state of this game:

This is a potentially great game that's unfortunately being held back due to both stupid and stubborn decisions by certain members of the development team, which makes it that much more frustrating to the players.
