I was looking at the market area and gear upgrades seem to be between 10 and 15k a piece. I don't know how you're supposed to get that much when you can only do 8 leves every 36 hours. Anyone have any tips for making money to afford these prices? Also, can you reset element points like you can stat points?

For making money, Do general farming/crafting, As for the Elemental Points, When you click reassign you get back the same amount you would for stats also.

So the only way to make money is to take up crafting? And I tried that, I got 3 stat and 0 elemental. Just wondering if a full reset gives all the elemental points back too.

just do your leves every chance you get and before long they start awarding 4-10k gil each at the 10~ camps. you'll have more than enough cash to outfit your character decently with no struggles unless your pumping your $ into crafting.

This one time at FFXIV camp I tried to get a 3 person party going, but just ended up as a Disciple of the Hand.

I wonder,

I find money is actually far to easy to get by honestly. If you don't play a lot but everyday, leve only will net you 8x ~2-4k (for local leve, and free mat to boot) + 8x (5-15k) for reginal leve (lvl 20 one pay handsomely, easy 10-15k for combat ones, can be soloed lvl 16 with bad gear, I know I'm doing it ^^)

Thats a lot of money every 36h (4/weeks roughly), between 60 and 100k easy, and guaranteed.
with the price of gear going done (for nq), I see little point in crafting, except that I like it.
during the last 4 days, I made maybe 30k crafting (my stuff just dont sell) and 250k with leve, to me thats broken.

I'm not touching the fact that leve (except the mining ones I kinda like) are boring after a fashion. Indeed, if you are not doing leve, money is quite hard to get by imo, but everybody, even without any preparation can make an easy 50k almost everyday. I expect a LOT of inflation because of that, unless SE finds way to sock money out of the system after a while (repair is a good one, but the fact npc repair don't go to 100% makes ppl do it themselve, which doesnt sock money out).
At this stage of the economy, to have more money in the system is not an issue as the quantity of (useful) goods is increasing in parallele.

Just my 2 cents, do lvl 20 leve and your gonna have no issue buying you basic gear (im not talking about the best gear or HQ)

I was planning on playing a fair bit that the 8 leves per 36 hours wont keep up. I'll admit I just started last night, so I'm only level 6. Trying to prepare for the level 7 gear I tried sucking it up and trying mining for a bit of cash but that "mini-game" just ****** me off. I'll just wait till level 10 and hope leves from that point manage to at least keep me up to date with gear. It worth selling mob drops to players? And anyone have any idea about elemental points being able to be reset?

Still looking to see if anyone knows if element points reset when you reset your stats or if you can reset them at all.

Many base level alchemy leves give you 12 bags of minium. It's a simple level 5 alchemy craft to turn that into 48 vials of quicksilver, and that's 4k at a vendor, right there.

Yes whenever you re-assign you get a percentage of points back. (both stats and elemental resistance)
If u put them into spots right away... then re-assign later, you will get the exact same points back.

Depending on your level you should re-assign and dont distribute, wait 30min, re-assign and dont distrubue, wait 30min, and repeat until you have all the points u want back. Then put them all where you want them to go.
