Has anyone seen or bought one of these yet?>> http://gear.ign.com/articles/112/1123360p1.html#ixzz11SAyuH6p Not sure I like how long the grip part looks. Think I'd want to try before I buy, but I'll keep using my faithful logitech till it dies.

No... A lot of people that use gamepads are using xbox 360 controllers. I am using a Logitech controller, because the batteries last a lot longer.

Ya they seem to be the most popular, I have the 360 wireless with the charge 'n play cord so it doesn't work for this. Also there seems to be a lot of Canadians on these forums ...How's it goin EH? I'm in Peterborough Ontario ^^

Logitech Dual action is what I have, and the D-pad isn't a whole lot better than the crappy 360 one, but it works ok. IMO Sony Playstation controllers have the best D-pad of all time.

PS3 Controller via USB cable emulating a XBox 360 controller. Works like a charm.

I would probably get an official FFXIV controller if it didn't have those ridiculous long grips.

This is the one I use.LogitechCordless Rumblepad 2

It is wireless just like an Xbox 360 controller, but the actual batteries last about 20 times longer in it. Don't ask me why... I am going to do another video on my controller setup soon, and put it up on youtube if you wish. The one I did before, i have since changed it a bit, since doing a lot of grinding has made me improve my setup a bit more, and refine what i use more often. That and the addition of the action bars saving is nice :)

Let me know, and if anyone has anything they want a video of, just speak up or send me a message, and I'll put it up on youtube.

logitech cordless rumblepad 2 is hands down the best pc gamepad there has been for the past several years

tho heres a not so fun fact. after a year or less but usually never. one of the dpad directions becomes insanely non responsive. i have 2 one i have to press down "down" in the dpad with some extreme force or it doesnt go down.. on the other i have to press "left" on the dpad with all my might or it just doesnt register. so i use the first one cause i dont have to press so hard it feels like ima break my thumb to get it to go down but i do have to press fairly hard.

if you google logitech rumblepad 2 sticky (and or) non responsive dpad youll see this happens to nearly every single wired one and only after a month or two. i went thru abt 5 of those.. and is also happens on the wireless but usually after a year or two one of mine is abt 5-6yrs old i bought it to play ffxi the other is abt 4 yrs old i bought it when i could no longer easily press left on the dpad on the first one abt 2 yrs after i bought it.. and im most likely going to buy another soon as i also hear they have upgraded and improved the quality of the build of it since i bought my last one 4 yrs ago

aka much less faulty dpads. but then again that could just be because the current owners havent had theirs over 2+ yrs lol

this is a bit off topic but i think the fact that the "official" ffxiv gamepad looks ALOT like the prototypes for the ps3 before release
anyone remember
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/02/ps3-boomerang-prototype-defended/

there was another that was basicly the current ps3 controller but with elongated grips like this ffxiv version in the original prototypes but i cant seem to find pics

anyway i think this only goes to show
"proof positive" were just playing a paid beta for ps3 release

i know ill get sub defaulted for saying that but thats my opinion

dont get me wrong i love the game and i am NOT going to cancel and wait for ps3 release.. tho i AM going to buy this for ps3 when its released and probably give away the acct creation info here on allah as i wont need it since i allready have an acct assuming its like ffxi where we can use our pc acct to login to playstation one
