the big white box on the left is a portable A/C / dehumidifier that i stole from the server rack room at work as even though i have central ac running 3 pcs that pump out soo much hot air the central alone isnt enought the server a/c makes my living room ice cold perect for overclocked pc's in tx
im a multi tasker but notice im playing ffxi on my tv on that pc.. thats cause that pc cant run ffxiv atm but i got a new mobo and psu coning in 2 day i bought off newegg after i bought the hd 5970 and it didnt fit in current rig. other 2 pc's are on right gateway fx 540 core 2 quad q6600 6gb ram 8800gts 2tb

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/6509/ld47fc3da3f7c2b03e99f01.jpg

and my hand built rig on the left a cheapo "Ninja" case i got at best buy with a amd phenom 2.5ghz "Black" edition quad core
4gb ddr3 800
gt 340
500gb hdd

thats my cheapest rig

Not shown. my laptop
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157113

its in the backpack on the floor in front of my tv as it goes where i go lol

yes its a mess. notice its allakhazam/web surfing dedicated purely on 1 system. ffxi and nothing else runnong on 1 stsyem then my ninja running ffxiv when im home but i been mainly running it on my laptop as my laptop actualy gets better performance then my home built phenom rig with gt 340.. yes its odd i know but true.. also it could be because i run on a higher resolution on my pc then laptop XD but meh

both 24inch monitors with main monitor being my 65' tv XD

these pics are abt a yr old the ninja case on the left is now an antec 900 but my camera no longer works so i just took these from my myspace page.. www.myspace.com/tetsuol

My current rig is this:

-Raidmax Smilodon Midtower Case
-Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 motherboard
-Sigma Monster 650W PSU
-AMD Phenom II Agena 2.3GHz quad-core processor(I don't recommend this)
-4GB G. Skill DDR2 1066
-Radeon HD 5770 1GB Juniper XT
-500GB Western Digital Caviar 7200RPM HDD

Going to change to an Intel build sometime in the next year, their processors are awesome.

Well i'm going to post my my future(more than likely near future rather than later, due to unforeseen circumstances)

Dual Xeon X5680s (Overclocked of Course)
EVGA Classified SR-2
12GB Corsair Dominator DDR3(Not sure on this part just yet)
XFX 5970 (Might add a second one if I have enough cash from said unforeseen circumstance) Already have one of these
PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1200 PSU
Lian Li PC-V2120 Case

And i'd prolly use my current corsair SSDs, unless I have quite a bit extra. I have to replace nearly everything, so keeping what I can based on fundage. I already have the Xeons, go super discount from work.

See this is the weirdest thing - mygosity should blow tianyue out of the water but he has struggling framerates and tianyue doesn't?

EDIT: On topic:

Intel Quad Core Q6700 (2.67Ghz)
4G DDR2 800Mhz RAM underclocked to 533 to sync up with CPU FSB
Asus P5Q-E MB (Someone needs to save the planet)
Radeon 4850 - though the 5870 I ordered should be here hopefully today or tomorrow :)

Slowly upgrading my PC, got the GPU, will probably look at getting a SSD next.
When I replace the CPU I am going to have to replace the MB and RAM at the same time so that will be the last thing.

my laptop used to take several minutes to load a cutsceene like the fist quest line ect took forever..

all i did on my laptop was get the nvidia BETA drivers since i had most up to date drivers as it was

dling the beta drivers alone i made a new char and ran thru the treasures of the sea entire quest with only 1 "loading" that lasted all of 3 whole seconds compared to the 2-5 minute load times id get on latest nvidia driver

people who dont have much of a problem with ffxiv to begin with report no noticable change with beta drivers.. but others myself included who have a machine that struggles there is a huge performance increase with the beta drivers on nvidia cards

They do not say what resolution they are running at; likely mygosity is running at a higher base resolution or maybe running at double buffer rendering; sli does not currently work with FFXIV; the i5 760 turbos higher than an i7 930 when not overclocked at all, thus removing some of the cpu bottleneck over the 930 setup.

In all realistic-ness it's not possible that tanyue is going with everything up all the way including AO and depth of field with 1920x1080 or higher res and double buffer. To really have everything on "max" means 2560x1600 at double res rendering with all in game options on, shadows on highest, textures on highest, filtering on highest, 16xAA, depth of field on, ambient occlusion on. No computer anywhere can currently run that at 60 fps.

tomorrow or friday i should be getting a new mobo and new PSU for my antec 900 rig..

ill be taking pics on my camera phone and the finished product will be posted on this thread as well as my bedroom setup as ive only posted the living room

my bedroom is another big screen 1080p but its only a 50 inch not a 65 like my living room and my laptop on a nightstand next to my bed so by friday youll get to see my messy bedroom lol

sad thing is my car. a 1987 nissan turbo. a epic pos that runs good but looks like crap.. then thousands of doallars of pc's electronics such ad big hdtv's pstriple, 360 2 psp's, ect ect and a new cell phone every 6 months each better then the previous .. yet my car is over 20 yrs old

you can easily see where my priorities lay

Well, seems like this could be come reality in the next several weeks. Just found out i'm going to come into a decent chunk of cash here soon, so i'm going to build a monster PC. Not just for gaming mind you.

your tidyness is so zen.

as for me i live in chaos.. i hired a maid service to clean and organize my house a few times whenever im expecting friends or family from out of town coming to visit/stay for a few days ect

but i soon discovered. when my house is clean and organized im helpless i cant find anything im dazed and confused and get upset cause i dont know where anything is at

when everything is spewed around chaoticly . its the exact opposite.. i know exactly where everything is and have 0 problems finding my car keys cell phone wallet ect ect

whereas if there sitting on a nice and tidy desk in plain view for some reason i spend a hour searching the house dumping out desk drawers on a table ect searching and searching just to find out everything was right on my desk all together convieniently ready to grab and go..

its like.. the chaos is order and in order everything is chaos

I get around 1 frame per hour on the lowest graphical settings, logging in is a chore as you can imagine, I think I'll upgrade soon... possibly add another 8MB RAM.

Nit pick!.... A system with a CPU like that would be more likely to have a ~600mb hard drive! 10gb was popular around the time the Pentium 3 came out! ;)

</nit>

..still awesome though :p

Since we seem to be lacking pics, here's my Wifes I built. It will run XIV and other games, but she prefers.... PetVille on FB bleh

Q6700
Asus Striker II Formula
2x2GB RAM
2x500 GB HDD in Raid 0
2x 8800 GTS 640mb's
CM 310 Elite (I think, either way it's a pretty decent sub-$30.00 case, but I'm having a **** of a time with cable management, I've got another week of fiddling around with wire placement before I say ***** it and resleeve everything into 1 giant lump)

Here's that same PC when I had it, with a desk I miss very much (movers destoyed it when I moved to the UK)

Fairly tidy

Oh wait, nm... see I suck at external cable management as well

lots o room almost looks like a empty case lol

you should add this it looks like you have plenty of room for it and you can OC like a dream with it

i am able to turn my 2.66 q6600 into a 4.0-4.2 ghz BEAST with that . thought at 4ghz + it gets a little hot so i tend to keep it around 3.2-3.6 ghz so it stays under 40c at idle and under 70 with full load

at 4+ its more abt 61c idle 85+ full load and sometimes overheats and crashes but only like after a 6+ hour gaming session of fallout3 or oblivion with HD textures add ons and every thing on max while also running firefox msn aim and playing music lol

edit i know what you mean about beloved desks i had a uber desk i picked up at ashley furniture it was a oak deask L shaped so it fit perfectly against a corner and had two compartments for pc's on bottom its was like it was specificly made for my setup thats in my original top pic but after i moved im not sure what happened i assembled it and one side ov it caved in..i think one of the movers sat on it and the wood broke and he just pushed it back into place cause theres no way a 5lb monitor and 1/4 lb keyboard could break solid oak

I don't need an aftermarket cooler on a "gaming" PC that's used for Facebooking and BluRays 99% of the time. I have a Tuniq tower that was on it when I had it in the Coolermaster Stacker in the other pics, but I downgraded a few components to fund my build and to quiet her setup down a bit. **** the Tuniqs still just sitting in a corner and most likely will until she trips over it and throws it at my car or something :p

My bad, I left out additional information.

Running 1920x1200 resolution. Ambient Occlusion off, Depth of Field on, AA set to none. Shadows to maximum, both texture settings to the highest. Resolution as the buffer size.

I copied the SLI profile from someone (after googling it) and imported it and I think I did get increased frame rates when comparing single card vs dual. Limsa Lominsa is my worst location to visit if I want good framerates. I average 20 there in the city and sometimes drop below depending on the population in the area, it's quite a pain to go there (which I do very often). I only reach 60 fps in the outdoor areas where there is practically no one.

As for the OS it's Windows 7 Home Edition (64 bit). I was scoring 4500 on the benchmark on high, 5500 on low, and the benchmark only recognised one video card in use (so that was definitely not an SLI test).

On another note, I get approximately 30-120 fps playing Crysis Warhead on maximum detail with AA set to the highest depending on view distances in the scene and action involved + character models on screen, physics etc. I think that seemed to be right judging by the various youtube videos I've watched comparing 1-3 video cards of the 480 series.

I'm assuming it's because I can't get my cards running FF14 optimally for the reason why my FPS isn't so fantastic.
