If you quit FFXIVFollow

What MMO would you be going to, or returning to? I'm just curious what people who were interested in a MMO like FFXIV are in to.

I'm actually taking a break from MMOs while I wait for FFXIV to fix its issues or something better to come out (I'm looking at you, Old Republic) and playing a lot of single-player games that I've been neglecting. Just finished Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep a few days ago after a mere 80 hours of gameplay... proof positive that SE is still capable of making **** good games, and presently on Valkyria Chronicles

FFXI, which I still play some of now. But at the moment, I have no intention of quitting FFXIV.

IF I quit, it'll be no MMO, for now.

I'd play Cataclysm for a few months, then lose interest and quit, and go back to playing no MMOs again.

I think I'm just getting too old for MMOs. I'm getting on in my years, I don't think I get the same sense of fulfillment that I used to in dumping away the hours on characters in unending games.

Probably go back to WoW for a bit, play when Cata comes out (12/7) until I get bored with it. After that, no clue, maybe something decent will be out.. Been looking at Tera, Rift, GW2(although I heard no healers so that might be a no go), and of course I'm anticipating Diablo 3.. 14 basically needs a re-haul for it to even appeal to me at this point. My 1st views of it are so disgusting that I wouldn't even consider it unless it changed drastically..

I'm playing both WOW and FFXIV atm. I just started WOW this summer and am nearing level 80 so I would like to see what the endgame is like and compare it to ffxi. I plan to subscribe one more month to ffxiv just to mess around and see from there if i want to stay or leave and come back at a later date.

I have thought about going back to ffxi though.

I went back to XI. I still post here though because everything that's posted in the FFXI forum gets immediately karma nuked for no real reason. I lurk around the XIV forums so that when I come back I won't be too far behind on what's happening in the game. Of course that will only be after a couple major updates, if at all.

Oddly enough though I actually find I enjoy XI more now that XIV is out than I ever did before. Not entirely sure why that is...

Guild Wars 2 looks interesting. So I might play that.

I love BioWare but Star Wars doesn't appeal to me.

Right now I don't have any plan to quit as this is the only game I play other then NHL 11 (# 2 goalie in wins, and #3 goalie by save percentage in the be a pro mode right now) every couple of days or so.

If for some reason I do then that would be what I play and I would catch up really fast on my backlog of anime I plan on watching, lol.

If I were to quit (not really planning on it unless nothing gets patched over the next few months), then that'd probably be it for me with MMORPGs. I've tried a bunch lately, and found nothing really to my liking. EVE would theoretically be the one with the most chance of getting me back, but I don't think I could swing another go-through (I quit that game two or three times already).

There's a chance that I'm just out of my MMORPG phase. I typically get more enjoyment out of online FPS's these days.

I really don't want to quit FFXIV, but they're gonna have to make significant changes in the next few months. I might try out DCUO and SWTOR, but neither of them excite me as much as this game's potential.

Considering I bought a new computer in anticipation of FFXIV, hated wow and all the new MMO's seem to be wow clones... I picked up Starcraft 2 on Saturday and man o man this game is friggin great. Though I didnt like WOW I have to admit Blizzard sure knows what they are doing everything is user friendly the story kicks ***, coming straight to this game after FFXIV makes it shine even more and makes FF look as terribly incomplete as it is.

The main issue for me right now is the lack of additional retainers. I can put up with everything else, but not the lack of storage. I can't craft because I don't have space, and I can't level up other jobs because I have no space for the appropriate gear sets.

I haven't added a subscription to my account yet, and if by the 22nd the additional retainers still are not in, I will let my account shut itself down.

As for what MMO I'd go to instead: none. I got back into MMO's for FFXIV.

SWTOR has been in my sights ever since it was announced, and once it's out I'm sure I'll buy it. But I'm not as excited as I was at the start. Everything I've seen so far looks like World of Star Warscraft, which if that's what I wanted I would just play WoW.

I'll go back to FFXI until they ruin that too then I don't know, FFXIV is depressingly bad and I can't see them doing enough to fix it in a timely manner. I'm sure not going to pay them any more money for a game I find no value in while I wait either. It will bleed players to the point it won't be profitable and eventually just fizzle out.

FFXI = PSO, FFXIV = PSU. Dead man walking.

I wish there was something for me out there.
I want a game that completely immerses you in every aspect of gaming. FFXIV was not my fix, but the crafting system somewhat surprised me. Every craft seems to be dependent of the other crafts and that brings people together. That is my kind of MMORPG. Unfortunately, they managed to ***** that up by placing recipes in completely different tiers. The hard aspect of crafting shouldn't be "waiting until someone is able to make it", it should be about getting your hands on that extremely rare part that only drops from that certain NM. Not going to talk about the auction house...

I feel like playing Everquest Online Adventures...that game was something else.

This game is bringing back my nostalgia for FFXI. I thought about reactivating it, but then I remembered everything that was good and golden about that game is gone. No more friendly LSmates. No sitting around at level 75 and enjoying end-game content. Instead I'd have to go back in, buy a bunch of mini-expansions and then try grinding all of my subjobs to 50. Maybe I'll just go back to wow.

I abhor the twitchy button-spam based combat, but at least the game design is good.

Haven't really had a chance to get it, but I'll keep that in mind. I do know though that despite reservations with the DQ series as a whole (especially since how drudging 7 was) I picked up IX and was really pleased.

I think for SE games it's basically going to come down to seeing which team developed what in terms of seeing what's worth playing. Some have a really good track record and you can depend on. Some don't.

Seems like me's like the only person returning to Aion. Read about the 2.0 update a bit two days ago and spontaneously decided to give it another go, just for the heck of it. Having fun so far, although my old server is gone. But I never mind starting over, the road is what's fun to me anyway, not the destination.

If FFXIV won't have changed until my free month is up, me will most likely cancel. Would be silly to pay and not play. I'll keep my eyes on this game, no question. But they better do something until some other interesting titles hit the shelves, mainly Tera for me. And it would be sad, I seriously didn't expect to feel this disappointed about FFXIV, with absolutely no desire to play after only one week. It feels like I was playing some free to play game in a way (with the exception of graphics of course).

So yea...will see what's going to happen. There's still time, SE.

If I end up leaving FFXIV chances are I might not be going back to any MMORPG for a while. I was kinda burnt out on MMORPGs anyway to be honest. I had long since lost any interest in the console Final Fantasy games (last one I really enjoyed was Final Fantasy 9) but there was always something about the MMO version that felt different to me. Something that stayed true to the Final Fantasy games of old. Perhaps because it was actually a fantasy game and not a scifi game that so many others have turned into. Same for FFXIV. However even though I've been burnt out on MMORPGs doesn't mean I don't enjoy them. I just have a lower threshold for many things now.

I wanted to try FFXIV since it was new. I felt that after FFXI they would know what to include right from the start. It didn't seem like a big leap to make. However I'm finding the game to be worse then FFXI. I won't be going back to FFXI after all these years though. If things don't improve then I think this will be the absolute last time I ever buy another Square-Enix game outside of Dragon Quest. The reason for that exception as that's still a Enix game and not a Square one. It won't be hard to do this as I said I no longer have any interest in the console or even portable Final Fantasy games.

There is a possibility that I could resubscribe to World of Warcraft when Cataclysm hits. It's a complete revamp of the world and as such one doesn't even have to buy the expansion pack I think to try out many of the new areas. I still have it installed on my computer. I was waiting for DC Universe Online but that has been pushed back. Most likely I might focus more on normal RPGs with Fable 3 (love this series), Fallout: New Vegas, Gothic 4, Golden Sun coming out. There are some others that I still haven't played like Mass Effect 2. I still need to finish up Dragon Age: Origins. I'm trying not to think about Xenoblade and The Last Story at the moment but really want to play thoughs.

Honestly, no idea. Tried WoW, got to level 30 and just walked away after having to listen to preteens bickering in the Trade channel and watching Level 80s smack down Level 2s over and over with one-hit kills. Tried Everquest, left after two days. Tried Eve and FFXI, but they did not hook my interest. My thing is I am not looking for a MMO to play, just to play... I was looking for one where I can roleplay in. There just doesn't seem to be one out there. I love the look of FFXIV, but the gameplay is starting to wear me down. I wanted to craft arrows, but it would take carpentry, alchemy, leatherworking, goldsmithing, weaving and hours upon hours of grinding mobs, mining, and botany to get ingredients just to make ONE batch of arrow. That is not a game, that's work.

I don't plan on leaving FFXIV, but if I was leaving, I'm 100% not going back to WoW. The game is getting worse and worse.

I stalked SWTOR for a LONNNNNNGGG time, but the game seems to moving very slowly with very few updates about the systems and what not. It looks like a WoW clone)part by Part) with star wars models and Voice Over. The secret world is very interesting at the moment, but again that is probably a year+ away. I have not read anything on GW2, so I guess it is FFXIV or I wait until 2012 to play a MMO, and I just bought a new system... Maybe I'll try fallout.

If I quit FFXIV I won't be picking up another mmo. I haven't played an MMO for well over a year, too busy doing other stuff. I only picked this up because 1) I keep in touch with my former LS friends from FFXI (my husband and i host the LS forums)and a bunch of them are playing 2) I missed my long eared character. So instead of switching to a different MMO I would just be going to the library more often, or spending an extra hour or two out in the barn or something like that. Probably knitting more, too. hehe. I am SUCH an old lady.

I still play FFXI pretty often, about a 50/50 time split with XIV. So if I cancel XIV.. it'll just go back to being 100% FFXI.

Right now I'm just debating whether I want to cancel my account until SE fixes the game or not. >:
