With FFXIV being fresh out of the oven, people from all over the world have had high hopes of this being the "ONE", but we all have different hopes and dreams of what it would be, now that it is out and available, people are flaming and complaining about how its an Epic fail.

While grasping the hearts of most, all we are hearing daily are how its not for them, how SE have failed people, and the rants over and over again about no AH, Travel etc,

Before you even played this game, what where your hopes that FFXIV would have/and could still have.

Myself, I hope for an immense story line that will keep me wanting to play hopeing to see how it pans out, fall in love with the main characters who i can't wait to see their zany quirks, and be there with them during a time of need.
A class i can immerse into and enjoy playing with a group of close friends.

Make this thread Constructive and positive, don't just State the obvious, or post anything that is just too stupid, just let the community out there know that the people who want to play that there is a glimmer of light bring the love back to the Forums :D

I just wanted to have fun playing with my friends who I haven't played with for so long. That's all I wanted, the game didn't have to be amazingly immersive, just good and challenging enough for a bunch of us to log in and play together.

They've gone and wrecked that with some weird RNG skill up levelling system though, yeah let's punish people based on their roles in a party.

An mmorpg that stays true to its genre.
I don't want to play by myself. That isn't what MMORPGs should focus on. That's completely asinine.
It's like people want to play MMO's by themselves so they can show off their progress to others. God ****...

This game...wow I don't know what to say.

I hoped for a MMO that finally abandoned the class/level based system and let you make the type of character you wanted to. Like back in Ultima Online. FFXIV has largely succeeded in that, and I'm loving that part of the game.

But that aspect of the game is being overshadowed by the number of issues and annoyances that need to be addressed. They will be addressed eventually, but will it be soon enough to maintain the necessary subscription numbers? I hope so. If they get everything they talked about during the pre-live event into the game it's going to be a lot of fun.

At this point, i would be happy with some kind of rapport with SE. I just want to know that they acknowledge the issues the game has and that they hear their customer's concerns and are addressing them, or creating some sort of strategy to address them. I want to know that this company gives a **** about my business and my opinion of their product. All of that could be achieved with simple communication.

There is no official update site, no forums, no developer presence ANYWHERE on the internet, no indication of any kind that SE wanted anything other than to lure their customers into buying an unfinished product. They even had the gall to ask editors not to review the game for a month.

All people want is to know that the company stands behind its product.

This is absolutely what I was thinking, I don't expect the game to be fixed within a week of release, but at least an announcement from SE stating what they will be fixing/adding/changing over the ongoing weeks, they are completely silent right now which is worrying.
