What was SE thinking with Repair System??Follow

Weapons and armor take damage based on the mobs you are fighting. If you weapon is breaking quickly it either (and) has a low durability (+1s and higher can last quite a bit longer than their NQ versions), and/or you are fighting mobs at such a higher level than you that your weapon damages quickly.

I have found anything above 10 levels above my gear causes very rapid damage. fighting level 20 mobs and my HQ wand (which is only Rank 7, and I am 17) breaks in a matter of minutes. I now have my budding wand and will try that, or maybe if I can make/find a moraine I will try an elemental wand. My gear however, is closer to my level (and has substantially lower durability than my wand) and lasts for several hours. If I am fighting blue or green mobs, I can go an entire day without suffering equipment damage (with the exception of my wand).

So we should need to spend 3+ hours every night looking for repairs or spend hours being forced to lvl a craft we have no intrest in play at all just so we can go back out a play the part of the game we do like? All this mind you wile paying to play this game! I have a job thank you I don't need to pay SE to let me work online as well. Its not "whiners" its people wanting to play the game not spend 3-5 hours doing nothing looking for a **** repair.

In a nutshell? Yes. Like it or leave it. That's what SE intended. Stop trying to argue it. The system of having to have your gear repaired by a player...you or someone else...is not going to change. SE is highly unlikely to reduce the NPC repair costs because the NPC is there as an emergency backup, not a mainstay. You can complain about it all day long or you can accept it.

This system adds nothing but headachs to the game. And by the way it has never not once been confirmed that items of a higher rank deterioration is faster than one of you own rank or under. Like i said above my own testing only showed a 15 min speed up in my items braking.every test thats been done on this is some jerk off (my self incloded) runing around bashing mobs for an hour with difrent weapons. this proves nothing but that people dont understand variance and the laws of avrege.

People are doing tests. The testing they're doing is leaning very strongly towards more rapid durability loss on gear significantly above your rank. You can argue that all day, too, and in the end you may turn out to be right but deep down inside, you have to know SE isn't going to allow people to just equip rank 50 gear on a rank 1 class and just have it scale nicely all the way up through 49 ranks. The bottom would fall out of the mid-tier crafting market with the quickness.

I'll say it again: FFXIV is not focused on grinding mobs for xp. That's only one facet of a much larger picture and the sooner you accept that and get involved in the other facets in some way, the easier it's going to be for you. That could be getting to know people you can call on to repair your stuff. It could be leveling a profession to repair it yourself. It could be any number of clever and creative spins on how to get the job done but at the end of the day, if you're playing with a solo player mentality who doesn't want to craft, you're going to waste a ton of time and/or pay out the ***.

But you know what? I don't give a sh*t if you have no time for "Whinetrs" like me. I payed for a bust *** game and Im going to scream as loud as I can untill something Is done about it. You know at this point defending SE and FFXIV is like defending Ford for selling you a car that gets 2 miles to the galon and ****** on you feet every time you step in the car. Quit being fanbois and smell the sh*t flavord pie SE is selling you. It needs fixed and this only one of crap ton of other problems with this game. This just hapons to be the one that gets to me the most.

Some things need addressing in the game, yes. The actual process (ie. UI) to repair gear needs to be improved, but the system of having other players repair your gear is a fundamental component to what SE is driving at. You can adapt and overcome or you can whine. It's up to you.

Even if wearing gear above your rank makes it deteriorate faster (I'm still not convinced it does, and I'm waiting for definitive proof, not just what people eyeball) and even if..

If you want proof - get one of the cheap lvl 40+ weapons for any job, and go hit a few red mobs - it will break withing 15 minutes. It's pretty obvious - but then again Zam people like things spelled out for them and not do any testing themselves, even if it's **** poor easy.

If you got 8 lvls without your weapon braking Grats on making it to lvl 8. Come back after lvl 11 or 12 and say the same thing.

You're reading comprehension is fail - I said 8 leves, not levels. If you are going to try to rebuttal someone at least learn to read.

All my starter weapons (one for each class) wear out (1/nth) in about an hour in the starting zone.

Report that as a bug, that is most definitely not normal decay on weapon durability for starter weapons.

All they need to do is get an auction house up and have crafters make and sell field repair kits as part of thier leveling process. Remove the wear from undergarments. Problem solved wheres my commission...

Ok this is to everyone defending the repair system. Just tell me this. I have now spent over 7 hours looking for repairs. Now I am offering 6k and the item need to repair said Items. Thats 6k gill and 1 ash plank and 6k + 1 Bronze square. Ok so I see people making the gear I want repaired so I know they can do it. I send them a tell and this is what I get. "Sorry it is not worth my time to repair your items. Go lvl crafting and do it your self." And this one I love. "You are only offering 6k for a repair that cost 15k at the vender. Ill do your repair for 10k + the item."

WTF!! Tell me Were is the fun in this? How am I not trying to work within the system? I am offering more than a good price for a Repair 6k + item needed. This is BS thats all it is. Plz tell me where the fun is in this system?! Tell me why the **** SE should not fix this.

Give me a break. If people don't stop doing this "If you don't like it, then shut up and leave." thing soon, I'm going to flip out. If people don't like any one aspect of the game, and they voice their issue with it without insulting others, it's well within their right to do so. Things don't get fixed if everyone just puts up with it with a grin on their faces. The forum is as good a place as any to voice concerns and complaints.

Folks I am looking at and thinking about what could be the obvious. With as many years of experience SE has with MMO and the welcomed praised changes it made to FFXI over the years, there is absolutely no reason FFXIV should be in the state it is right now?

Oh but this where we are wrong, there is one reason. "FFXIV is INCOMPLETE" we have purchased "OPEN BETA 2" or "OPEN ALpha 3" for that matter. SE is experienced enough, if they did not dabble in MMO prior or FFXI never existed then the state of FFXIV could be forgiven a bit. Just last night, a friend and I decided to run about to hopefully find a region on these vast zone maps to level/grind a bit, and 90% of the time NO MOBS!!! really? hmm i think SE is still making its Art assets for the game.

With that said their mischievous master plan is to keep the players at bay by delivering 2 of the worst systems in an MMO that only a noob company entering this field would do. Yes I am talking about you (Synth and Market Wards)and everything else that is just not right.

The Plan :
• Try to keep ppl playing by
o Delivering a system that takes time and is clunky
• Ppl will complain
o While they complain
 We pretend we hear them because we know we did this purposely
• We have internal Fixes for these “issues” already
o When we release these Fixes/Patches bit by bit
 Players will be happy
• They will praise us saying WE LUV U SE you listen to us
• Meanwhile back in the Bat-cave
o The Art Team is making all the missing Mobs
 We will release those missing mobs as an expansion pack
 EVEN BETTER!!! We will release the Full version patch when WOW Cataclysm ships /smile followed by a pair of Devil Horns
 We shall see who has the last laugh
• Sign SE POWER

This is my theory and I’m sticking with it.

No, your undies get repaired along with all other clothes when you go to the repair NPC. What doesn't get repaired is your accessories. You've got a broken ring or something; you'll need a PC crafter to fix it.

I have to agree. I have yet to wear out a starter weapon/tool, and I've levelled three classes past 7 and done some work in several others. They've all lasted until it was time to replace them.
