All games reviews say the same thing. "Game suck and don't buy it."

I think people should read the reviews before dropping a ton of cash on a new PC. My advice would be if your going to get this game don't drop $2,000 on a new gaming rig.

If you want this game in spite of the reviews I would recommended upgrading your graphics card for much less money and wait on buying an expensive gaming PC until the game gets all the patches to fix the known issues.

By the time the fixes are in you can get a better PC for the same price.

I am sticking around here for a while because I'm still having fun with this game.

Kind of late for everyone who spent money on their system in order to play OB or their preorders.

"Patches over the course of the next few months may address many of the technical issues, but for now this is not a world worth visiting."

I think this is a good summary of FFXIV in it current state and a mesage that should be ringing the ears of the Devs. They need to step their game up and get this derailed train back on track for the PS3 launch, then maybe FFXIV will get some decent review scores.

They need to get it on track way before then.

Thank you OP, for assembling these. Sadly, Gamespot, imo, is dead on the mark. This just makes me sick, because I had such high hopes for this game. I hope SE can fix this mess, but I really have my doubts. I sure hope I'm wrong.

ditto.

If the game had a UI even half as good as ffxi (which shouldn't take much) I'd of stayed. But the lack of AH, the lack of good UI, the built-in lag on everything was too wearing on somone who's allready taxed for time. When I play a game, it's to play... not be tortured.

That said, I think 14 has a lot of good things going for it, mainly the armory system, the flexibility of picking which abilities you want on each character is phenominal. I also like the way Physical level and Class level are different, which means you can dabble in a ton of other classes, or focus on one specific class. I believe this, paired with the ability to put your stats where you want them, makes for a wonderful game system that would be worth playing...

If the 1st paragraph's problems had been fixed.

Until I read a ton of "OMG! The UI is so smooth now! And there's an awesome auction house in every city that does XYZ instead of ff11's ABC, or WoW's CDF! IT is really mega!" I think I'll stick to reading some books.

Lol, the picture on the review where SE ask not to make review for 1 month is the entrance of the yurakuchou BIC camera, which is exactly where I bought my version of FF11.
Nothing else to add, fix the UI fast, the rest is fine (content can be added later or a bit slower at start, UI first please !)

3rd log in the series, and the most hilarious so far to me.

Pretty good write up there, glad to see him confess he doesnt know a lot about the game (such as the ferry, levequest cooldown etc.)

Pretty sure most reviewers dont know these things either. Suppose its not compeltely their fault since SE doesnt have very much documentation about the game, but that is they do things.

Brace for impact when the G4/XPlay review hits, they are usually brutal to FF games to begin with. They are gonna rip this one a new ...you know.

In some bizzare twist they'll most likely give it a 5 out of 5

Kotaku, Final play

http://kotaku.com/5667141/final-fantasy-xiv-mmo-log-four-ending-pancake-week-with-a-bang

They'll have their rating up in a few days, but it's not going to be great. However I've enjoyed reading Kotaku's segmented review the most of any other review so far.

Think I'm finally convinced of not getting this game, even though I played FF11 (and liked it) and have followed the development closely for more than a year.

Too bad SE. :(

The Kotaku Final review is up, and honestly it ended up better than I expected. I did think they'd give it a numbered review, but they didn't. I do think that MMO's shouldn't be rated against single or even multi games, pay to play should be in a different class. In the end, it's not positive, but it's not kicking a dog while it's down either.

I forgot the site, but supposedly theres another multi-part review coming out soon. Of all the reviews, these are the only ones I'd listen to as a consumer. The pictures alone show that these aren't cut and paste, and multi-part reviews prove to the potential customer base that you have the experience and credibility to score whichever way your site chooses. IMO with no score, Kotaku has said "It's not what I want, but it has potential... I won't dog it until I'm sure it's not going to show up to the 10 year reuinion with a million dollar inheritance and implants"
