Asking for some positives...Follow

As someone who has to wait for the PS3 version of FFXIV, I spend a lot of time reading this forum to get my fix while I wait.

I believe I have a good feel for the issues in this game, and I understand the frustrations. However, this morning I read Aurelius' post here http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?game=268&mid=12864440591377960&page=1. It made me remember what I am really looking forward to, and what I've missed since FFXI. The community. Now I know Aurelius' post wasn't really a feel good story, but I enjoyed hearing about the interactions with others.

I also understand that the community is hampered by other technical issues...no need to reiterate them as they are listed many times.

As you all are my only way to stand the wait, I'm asking for some stories, some experiences that demonstrate the community of FFXIV. Have you had anyone help you out, found a good group, had a good party? ****, had a bad run in with someone? I'm mainly looking for people driven info, not so much about bugs or lag or lack of AH.

One thing I think I'm going to enjoy in this game is how the community has to rely quite a bit on each other, and I'm asking for evidence of this fact.

Thanks!

I've had some great experiences with LS mates sharing crafting mats & info so we can focus on our preferred craft, rather than leveling all of them.

Honestly? As for community... everybody seems to be too eager to for "gets" than just trying anything out soutside of their linkshells.

I understand though, everybody is scared of falling behind like they did in XI. Just wish their was a viable alternative to grinding crafts.

I look forward to hearing some more feelgood stories.

My only one so far was getting a PT invite. All set at 10 players or so. It's taking a while to set up and pick everybody up from their locations, but such is the nature of japanese players.

Then I notice everybody suddenly changes jobs to mage classes

Lead: "Mage PT Only OK?"
Me: Thaumaturge OK
<swift job change>
Lead: You might not like this PT play.

After a couple of minutes of broken English, broken Japanese and auto-translate, I get that the PT is a heal spam, and the leader was warning me I might not want to get involved.

2 days later, patch is in place.

Hmmm...guess I'll count down until PS3 launch and cross my fingers things are looking up.

I know the squeaky wheel is the loudest, I'm just hoping the good stories start rolling in eventually.

Edit: errors obviously caused by UI lag.

I wouldn't be too worried about a lot of the issues the PC users are dealing with right now as a PS3 player. By the time it comes out, I would expect and hope at least a number of them have been dealt with. The game should be a lot more playable at the very least when the PS3 version launches.

Positives? Hmmmm?

How about
I can change jobs without having to goto a central location i.e. moghouse, NPC
I can level a craft with minimal resources: guildleve give you everything you need including crystals
The scenery is beautiful if a little repeative
The Cutscenes are beautiful
