Levelling 12+Follow

I'm currently doing guildleves on my own since i'm having a hard time finding anyone to do them with (i'm CON rank 12 and physical 15), and i'm finding that i'm getting probably about half a level for doing all the ones I can in a day.

So I decided to go and kill some dodos (i'm near Camp Skull Valley in La Noscea) and while I did get some experience, it seemed quite low. Am I doing something wrong, or is solo experience supposed to be like this? I'm obviously not expecting a level every 20 minutes, but it is going rather slowly. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel that i'm wasting my time doing things that are giving me minimal experience and that fatigue will creep upon me before iv'e achieved a great deal. Thanks.

Try syriphyds near Skull Valley. They go down faster than dodos. There's also some coblyns and syriphyds north of camp Horizon in Thanalan that go down very easy.

As for only getting half a level/rank off leves, it happened to me at your rank as well. I've almost given up on leves for leveling and I'm using them mostly for the money now.

My understanding of the fatigue system is that the threshold is based on how many skill points you have earned, and not on how much time you are playing. While it is frustrating to not get much skill points from your kills, I don't think it will be getting you any closer to being fatigued.

Thanks for the replies guys, iv'e just been getting a bit meh about it. As long as its supposed to be like that, and i'm not losing anything over it lol. Iv'e seen people at like level 22 about 5 days ago and wondered if i'm doing it wrong. Time to kill some swarms!

In case there has been a misunderstanding, the actual experience points you earn from a mob are based on your physical level. That means if you're fighting rank 10 mobs with a physical level of 15, you'll get less experience than someone with a physical level of 10 fighting those same mobs. Class ranks and skill points are based on your rank vs. mob rank. Just thought I'd throw that out there since people are using xp and level interchangeable with skill/rank and sometimes it leads to confusion.

Also be aware that Guardians Favor > Leves > non-leve grinding. That is, you get more sp from a leve, even without guardians favor, then grinding mobs outside of leves.

And as someone else said: Fatigue is based on 8 hours worth of XP/SP (as calculated by SE), not 8 hours play time.

Also, as a conjurer, be aware that you can join a party and heal for exp, and you can tag along on other people's leves while doing that.
