Guild abilitiesFollow

Any clue what those guild abilities do that say change one +5 in a stat to a +5 in another?

Due to previous miswordings on SE's part im hoping they dont just remove 5 from one stat and put it in another since that seems pretty pointless.

Im my opinoin its seems to point twards when you respec your stats... if you respec and it normally would give you 20 to re-allocate.. it might give you 25 now.

No.

The point of these abilities is to use them with other classes. For example, Thaumaturge's guild abilites allow it to convert magical stats to physical ones. You would use these when playing as a melee class for an extra boost.

Like what TraumaFox said,

If you play a melee class and pump all of your points into STR, DEX, and VIT, that doesn't help you at all when you decide to switch into a Conjurer for a time. These skills give you the ability to rearrange your stats, I assume just by equipping them, so you don't have to go through that process of reassigning, waiting, reassigning, waiting, etc.

~ Seems silly to reassign points you can already reassign yourself. I would assume it touches the BASE stats, the ones you never get to reassign. Thus tweaking your total stats more than typically normal.

You might think so, but if you have all your main stats for melee/mage well over 40...it is going to take quite a while to reassign a meaningful amount of points (not to mention switching them back). In addition, if you wanted to add to melee stats but your main jobs were casters, you can get the traits from the melee guilds and add directly to your mage stats very easily.

Since any stat point allocated over 40 takes 2 to raise that attribute 1 point, those other guild's traits will be very handy for making powerful chars (or temporarily switching between melee/mage/crafter types).

Edit for clarity: if you wanted to add 5 to Str, and your Str is already over 40, it would normally take 10 stat points. If you have fewer than 40 points allocated to some other stat that can be converted into Str, using one of these traits you could make the conversion by allocating only 5 stat points.
