The way I see it we all fall into one of the following groups.
1) The player who currently loves FFXIV and thinks it is great in its current form but looks forward to getting better.
2) The player who enjoys the core concepts of the game, but feels the game could have done better to wait for some of the features to be better implemented.
3) The player who thinks the game is beyond hopeless. The core concepts of the games are beyond fixing and the developers are incapable of making the game a fun experience.
If you fall into the first category... Ok, let's be honest, no one in their right mind falls into the first category. The features missing in this game at the moment are so basic, that if you don't notice them, you are not paying attention.
If you fall into the second category, don't be so doom and gloom. You believe the core foundations are there and when the missing pieces are finally put into place you will be a great MMO. You enjoy playing the game now, but cannot argue the game would have been better off waiting for a more polished release.
If you fall into the final category, why are you reading this? Seriously, I won't say I your opinion is wrong and I can totally appreciate the reason the game is not for you and will never be for you. But, what is there left for you to do? There are hundreds of other games that are not for you, but you aren't on those forums still reading about the game. You aren't logging into those other games you don't enjoy just to keep reminding yourself that you dislike the game. Some seem to just have way too much emotionally invested in the game that they want revenge for the game not living up to their expectations. Let it go and move on to what you enjoy. Your voice will be heard with one less subscription at SquareEnix, but for those of us in category 2, we have heard enough.
