Tonight's Maintenance Game!Follow

I am going to bed. Please use this thread to discuss what you believe SE will update in the game tonight.

My guess?

"An issue where emotes while sitting are extremely restricted has been resolved."

Carry on. Good night. Newbs, be good. Trolls, stop biting people. You other people...um...you keep...doing whatever it is you people do.

Tidane's wishful thinking thread on what SE should fix if they thought about things like most people on ZAM do. Use this as a guide.

Fixed a number of issues involving the UI and crafting.

New functionality has been added to help players discard items without using as using as many confirmation windows. Best of luck to you all in your endeavors to figure out how to use this command! We have full confidence in the ability of our player base to brainstorm the right command sequence in order to effectively eliminate one of the steps in the process of discarding items. Again, we do this because we feel it adds a sense of community to the players and a challenge to the game itself, so enjoy!

Many players have also expressed their concerns about the amount of time spent inputting ingredients and commands while crafting, so we have implemented a new system whereupon recipes are randomized based on your current skill and access to available materials, plus or minus five ranks in either direction of your currently accessible crafting job. We feel this adds to the organic nature of crafting, and will help separate the dedicated crafters from players who take a more balanced approach to the game.

Finally, we have increased the number of crystals and shards a player or retainer can hold up to a maximum of 1000. To compensate for the increased availability of shard and crystal space, all shard drops have been reduced by 80% and all crystal drops have been reduced by 95% (except earth shards and crystals, who have had their drop rates increased by three orders of magnitude over the current drop rate).

In all seriousness; I bet it's that stupid +1 thing with macros where you can't put +1 into the item name. That's it, 4 hours and the top of thier list! Not the SP glitch, not the U.I. not the bazzar problem(s) not the retainer problem(s) not the anima recharge rate, not the extreme varations in difficulty between leve quests and 1 star and 2 stars. Not the battle system lag on weapon skills and abilities, not the NPC loading priority issue, no Choco's or airships for us yet, though i see the ******* thing every day and wonder why not now? Now new quests or missions, no adjustment to enemy levels within and area, no fix or rhyme or reason to the difficulty guage, I mean jesus do i need to keep going. shut the game down for 12 hours and fix that ****. Also why the **** no god ******* hot keys for menus. **** THE PS3 people and the ******* console they rode in on. I want to play a PC game designed for a keyboard and mouse, not a ******* controler!!!!!

and in jokes

The fact that people still honestly believe SE listens to the JP playerbase is just astounding. The JP players are ******** just as much as the NA players are.

HAHAHA, I know.. This one always gives me a good laugh as well...
Meanwhile in Japan.... Hundreds of Japanese gamers are complaining that SE won't listen to them because the people overseas will buy and play the game as-is and the sales in Japan is just a drop in the bucket compared to the international sales of the game.. They think SE will only listen to the International players and those players will kill this game because they'll buy it and play it as-is and that international gamers do not have the same high standards as Japanese players do for carefully refined RPGs... ie: Internationalization is what is killing Final Fantasy and it should be kept to Japan only and made specifically to Japanese tastes. Once they internationalized it, they could serve a pile of poo and people overseas will still buy it, so that's all they make. Also, SE has no reason to make anything other than junk because of those international sales is where all the money is and those overseas gamers will play any junk.

Epic lolz...

"An issue where the game was released too early has been fixed. The servers have been shut down, and we are beginning internal testing on the revamped project, entitled FFXIV-2 Online. We expect release of the completed game in Spring 2011.

Current players of FFXIV will be able to link their accounts to an FFXIV-2 account, but will be required to purchase a copy of the revamped title once it is released.

As a show of thanks for their support, users who link a FFXIV account with the revamped game will receive /bendover, a special ingame emote usable only by them. We hope you enjoy it and thank you for your understanding."

So a bunch of American gamers and Japanese gamers are flying on a plane....

The American gamers turn towards the Japanese gamers and say...
American gamers: "Dudes, I don't like the direction you're taking this plane. I wish I was Japanese I'd turn this baby around!"
Japanese gamers: "'Erm, I thought you guys were driving the plane????"
American gamers: "WHOA! Really???"

So they burst into the front of the plane and find....

"An issue regarding the constant and peircing whining of players who can't accept that our hands were tied due to financial restraints and fiscal demands from higher powers within the company that demanded we release the game in an unfinished state and refuse to accept that we are working to fix the problems and just because we do not say much does not mean we are not doing anything. All players enjoying aspects of the game and can see what it will become once we break free of the shackles that have bound us in this slightly sh*t covered mess thanks to pie charts and figures can now use the ability "couldn't-give-a-rat's-***". This ability is attained at rank 1 for all job classes with an instant cast, infinite duration and costs 0 mp. It will allow anyone with it activated to instantly reply to any "I hate/I quit/F U SE/WTF This sucks!" thread on any forum with a short message saying "I don't give a rat's *** troll-child!" without any effort from the user at the time.

We at Square Enix thank you for your patience and understanding.

lol... I think

Fix:

A new feature has been added that allows players to access their retainers anywhere in the world. This new feature will cost 5 anima points to summon the retainer within the same region and 8 anima points to summon them from a different region than you last summoned them, except in the case that you last summon was within the same zone.
