Reassigning Attribute PointsFollow

So I know you can only reassign 20% of your attribute points every # (4?) hours.....my question is: does anyone know if this affect is cumulative? i.e. can I click "reassign" sit still for 4 hours, then click "reassign" again and be able to reassign 40%, 60%, 80%, 100% of my attribute points?

As CON / THM, I have to worry about INT, PIE, MND, VIT (survivability), not to mention all six (6) elemental categories which allegedly affect our nukes in addition to resistances. There's something to be said for a balanced build, but there's also a lot to be said for building a nasty Fire or Ice or Lightning mage. Only concern is that if I put all of my eggs in one basket so to speak can I back peddle out of it? Only being able to backtrack by 20% isn't enough if your build is too lopsided.

Actually the reset timer for attribute points is around 30 minutes and you can reset yourself completely to as if you were a Physical level 1 (ive done it several times now) Supposidly at Physical level 50 you can reset in 1 shot but its just a rumor ive heard.

Do you lose points when you reassign? As an example, you lose 8 points but only get 6 points back to put into other stats? Is there any other penalty for reassigning attribute or elemental points, other than the time restriction?

Thanks.

You get every single point you spent back when you do a full reset just takes a little bit of time (ive done it several times and the points always add up the same whenever i do).

Terrific, that's great news; super duper gang! Now I can stop stockpiling elemental points b/c I'm indecisive.

To derail my own thread, have any CON's parsed or seen a substantial difference in their spell dmg based upon elemental point distribution? I've heard (conjecture?) that placing points into a particular elemental resistance also increases spell damage in that element AND increases crystal / shard yield for that particular element as well.

So far (I'm only Rank 15) the the mobs elemental weakness / resistance seems negligible. If it's relatively painless to reassign attribute points I'm going to try pumping all of my elemental attribute points into a single tree and see what kind of results I get. Facemelting Fire CON.

I heard it was 30 minutes, but when I try to reassign myself fully, it seems to be more like 45-60 minutes. Honestly I wish they'd give us a full reassign button with a 2-3 hour cooldown. I'd love to be gladiator at one point, then reliably be able to switch to thaumaturge if I were needed as that without waiting 3-4 hours actively changing.

I think more testing needs to be done with skill points. I'm afraid to reassign too many, incase MND is needed for something on my pug or something. Like self heals for example.

I posted this in another thread, but remember that using the reassign feature isn't the only way to redistribute your stat points. You can buy passive abilities using Guild Marks that will take a certain amount from one stat and put it in another. For instance, MRD can buy an ability that takes 2 points of str and puts it into mnd. At higher levels you can buy ones that distribute upwards of 8 points. So while the redistribute feature is limited to some amount, these abilities will help alot.
