All i want is for my mouse button 2 - one of the side buttons - to activate the macro I have at ctrl+0. That's it.

Im using a logitech G5 mouse. I was unable to find a SetPoint macro editor that worked with this older mouse model so I'm trying AutoHotKey. I got a simple script:

xbutton2::Send {Ctrl down}{0 down}{0 up}{Ctrl up}

But it doesn't seem to be working reliably; the delay between the keys is too short (or something) and it only actually activates the macro half the time or less. I experimented with the SetKeyDelay and PressDuration functions but I couldn't get it going ingame.

I'm sure this is a simple thing to accomplish but I'm unsure how to proceed. Any help or suggestions would be useful.

Using the latest SetPoint software from Logitec... choose the button, select Keystroke assignment then click in the Keystroke box to activate it. Hold CTRL and press 0. This will place CTRL+0 in the box. Click Apply, and done.

I have the g5 as well and have one button programmed for f12 (next party member), another to macro using aoe cure.

Currently using SetPoint 6.15.6
Driver Version 5.10.9

Thanks, but the standard SetPoint software was the first thing I tried with no luck.

Because of the odd way XIV interprets key presses, a 'ctrl+0' hotkey doesn't register. There needs to be 200ms delay or so between the press and release or else the game's macro palette doesn't even open. I noticed this on my Nostromo - setting an 'alt+1' hotkey had no effect; it wasn't until i recorded a macro of me actually pressing the button that it worked properly ingame.

Thanks for trying though, still open to suggestions and still messing around with AHK to try to make it work. Annoyed that its so difficult to do something so simple...

I am actually using it right now. Are you sure you don't have something set that's overwriting that key in game? SetPoint has options to set different profiles based on game being loaded etc.

I have the two left side buttons programmed for macros. One is CTRL+4 the other is CTRL+9 (those were the slots i had available and moving macros is a pain) and the middle button to F12.

Make SURE you are using the current version of SetPoint. The listing you entered is from the old version.

That's from the old version of the software and is screwy at best.
