Game lag causing me not able to play :( Goodbye XIV.Follow

I have spent error after error repairing. Took me a week in whole everyday.
Finally I created a character logged in and was overloaded with lag. I know people have complained about this I'm just telling my story.

It took me 30 seconds to move one space, my computer specs are more than fine for the game. Internet is running just short of 7 mbs which is extreamly fast internet speed which I'm proud of. But I am unable to play a game I have waiting for since day one of news on it. So I am left with a copy of Final Fantasy XIV ( with Garlond Goggles ) for sale I guess :/

Really wish I'd of been able to of played.

I don't know what to tell you, but something with your computer is NOT up to spec or you have something set up wrong. I can understand having some issues, but if its THAT unplayable, either your computer is not up to the task or you have something set up wrong. I know its frustrating. Perhaps you can play in March (assuming the game is still alive by then lol).

Operating Systems seems to make a difference. My performance went up a lot just switching from XP to Windows 7.

You're 'good at computers' but don't understand what people are asking for when talking about system specs?

I don't think you know as much as you assume you do.

This is the site for the official ff14 benchmark test.

http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/download/benchmark01.html

Run it and it will tell you if your PC is able to run ff14.

Download your driver updates especially for your graphics card.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU p7350 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz

RAM: 4.00 GB(I've heard people using less that one though and it running fine)

Graphics :

dunno what you want to know on this but I'll just write it all:

Name: NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GS
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip Type: GeForce 9300M GS
DAC Type: Intergrated RAMDAC
Approx. Total Memory: 4521 MB

Hope this helps.

You're PC is at the very minimum for computer specs...meaning that the lag is understandable. I would try lowering some of your graphic settings to see if that helps. If you have the cash, I would suggest upgrading to a newer generation of graphics card. Even with the upgrade though you will still experience some lag because your processor is also a little on the lower end of the spectrum.

From what I've read it's more than enough though?

and all my graphics are on low? and it doesn't make a difference.

This is the only game it has ever done it on.

I've played Dragon Age, Lord Of The Rings Online, WoW, Aria and many MANY more games on full graphics and I have never had any lag for them if at all ever !

:/

See the M after the Nvidia card? That means it's a laptop. The OP is either trolling or seriously doesn't know much about computers. You can't upgrade laptops unfortunately. At one point they were going to make USB GPUs (which IMO was a great idea for certain people like myself), but it fell through just like build your own lappy's did.

No, No you didn't. You did not play Dragon Age on full graphics with that GPU. WoW? Most likely. Aria, I don't know about.

In short, your laptop is woefully underpowered to play the game. You're running a midrange laptop from 2 years ago and trying to get a brand new game for 2010 to run smoothly that has trouble running well on high end desktops. It's just not happening with that computer. Ever. Buy a new one or just eat the loss of the game and keep in mind how little you saw this coming when you're thinking about how much you feel you know about computers.

Instead of wasting your time talking to people who obviously think you're an idiot why didn't you just run http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/download/benchmark01.html like i suggested for you?

I have to agree that this is a trolls post.

I'm running as people comment.

don't think I'm trolling, this is my first FF on the computer I've played. To people who think I'm stupid I've got two A*s in GCSE ICT, 2A* in A level and 1:2 diploma in ICT computering.

I'm not boasting or lying, I'm just saying even some people forget.

nice grab perrino, I only looked at the first one which showed 9300 GS, so I didn't realize it was a mobile version.

Oh also there is a tool that allows you to have an external GPU, but I've heard mixed reviews on how well they perform.

I have 0 degrees in any of that. I have a basic computer and networking certification tho. I learned more than you actually know about computers the first day I decided I was going to build one. So you are either lying or you managed to pick up 20 minutes worth of knowledge thru those degrees. The second one is feasible tho cause my brother in law has a networking degree and he couldn't tell you the first day stuff about what a network is much less any layers or interfacing.

Maybe because that benchmark score means close to nothing and is not a reliable indicator of how well your system will actually run the game.
