i have tried all 6 lvl 30 leve crystals at rank 25 and 26 mrd. I cannot find any mobs at all that are yellow or under and give 80+ sp per kill on average. It's driving me insane. Do they really expect me to solo 32k exp getting 50 sp a mob and having to rest inbetween fights?
My phys level is 31 and i have rank 26 gear so I know its not me.
Anyone having the same problems?

I'm not sure what you mean. Maybe you need to re-word that sentence about "...yellow or under giving 80 SP..."

You are fighting Red mobs for 80 SP?

In FFXI you had to be in the "sweet spot" for good skill-ups, too low or too high and you would get very little. Perhaps someone with a higher level character can help you better.

Goodluck.

theres no one to party with, i almost never see anyone over rank 21.
And i have tried fighting blue, green, and yellow mobs. Orange and red usually kill me.
None of the blue green or yellow ones have given over 100 sp per kill except in rare occasions.

Azurymber,

Thunder and I have commented in a few separate threads about the post rank 20 solo situation. I'm glad to hear that yet another person rank 20+ is confirming what we've been saying for a few days now that basically SP dies for solo after 20.

It really becomes a party game for you now. The good news is they (hopefully) fixed the SP glitch. I'm still at work, so I can't verify. So now you can party with 3+ members and not worry about that. Partying is also a lot of fun, and you get to mix match all sorts of neat combos. You do need a healer now, but in a lot of cases, you don't necessarily need a tank. So party formations as pretty wide open.

I suggest you just look for a few buddies and go kill big baddies up in Coerthas, or Nanawa Mines, or something. It really is a blast.

If you want to continue to solo, it will take a long longer to rank up, that's for sure. But just think of all the yummy items/crystals you'll be receiving. haha.

Yes cause the fact that your as high as rank as you are means your casual hrm 2+2 does not equal 5 .......

I think post 20, your best bet for solo SP is pumping up the stars on rank 20 leves and soloing them. Leves are still fairly reliable for decent skill ups if you don't kill the monsters too fast (Hence upping the star difficulty). But as for grinding outside of leves, yah, it's basically reduced to about 30 SP a kill, depending on difficulty and luck.

I was partying with my roommate yesterday up in Coerthas. We were killing squirrels and does for around 100 SP (Offensive ability SP) duo. As soon as he went to bed, I tried to kill more squirrels solo and only was getting 30-40 SP a kill. I was doing 100% of the damage, and the fights were lasting twice as long, now too. hah

So that's pretty damning proof, I think. That or numerous people are all experiencing the exact same coincidence.

I think they are refering to leve quests there. For people who may only play and hour or so a day.

When we run out of leve quests it seems the solo grind is just as hard as FFXI. So parties it is then.

I like this as I was worried FFXIV was going to be too easy to level.

remember, 80 SP every 30 seconds IS solo friendly compared to 15 XP every 5 minutes...

Well don't share any of your knowledge then. The main purpose of a forum like this is so you can come on and boast like the smug ******** you are.

I just hit rank 24 on my archer and I've noticed a huge decrease in the skillups i've been getting. On the same mobs at lvl 23 I was getting about 40-50 per skillup and about 100-300 sp per mob. At lvl 24 on the same mobs i've been getting 18-30 per skillup and definately under 100 sp per mob on average 50 sp. So on top of fatigue system theres some other type of penalty once you get to a certain lvl on the amount of sp you can get.
