It's 11:40pm in the UK right now, so I would assume there's a fair mix of every one online atm. Any way I just noticed that I'm no longer getting massive amounts of PC's poping out of no where and they seem to load from much further away.

Another thing is my GPU's seem a few degrees cooler (86C on my top one which was hitting 89-92 in town with my current settings). I'm just guessing that IF they optimized the way the servers run or latency works (others have said less lag UI and action bar wise, but I don't notice as I didn't have much before), that maybe they improved the graphics side of things slightly as well. If so, it's a step in the right direction. The repair NPC was up before I got there, as was the giant crowd. Usually I get 1-5 of the crowd, then NPC, then horde of PCs loading...

Have you checked the online population yet? Click party menu to do so. The supposedly "smooth" operation is not an indication, 1-1800 population = smooth, 1801-2500 population = it's alright, 2500-3100 population = OPEN ****ING DOORS, 3100+ = Gysahl every night in Japan time a.k.a the logging in queue. Unfortunately being an Ozzie, we are very close to Japan time zone. No, I don't see any server optimization yet and I've always checked the server population.

I didn't even realize you could check the number of people online in XIV. I remembered trying "/sea all" and getting nothing and thinking they must have not implemented the feature yet. Silly me for not realizing it must be done by going through a completely unrelated menu option.

I was doing the same thing in Beta constantly!

BTW I meant 2.1K not 21 obviously.

I noticed all of this too on Mysidia, it's not just you.

The game was actually playable. I kinda enjoyed doing some crafting leves :)

it's probably your beer. Just kidding. Like I've said, 2100-2500 is still alright, server is still smooth. Yesterday right after the maintenance for about 1+ hours, traffic getting heavy as usual on Gysahl and everything breaking apart. Maybe they have done optimization, but it's really hard to tell.

I checked the people on Bodhum last night, around 1600. That seems very low for me. Right now it feels crowded because the world is so small. This is fewer than the number of people playing XI now and a fraction of what was on XI 4 or 5 years ago.

Gysahl has NEVER seen anything less than 3100 in Japan time, every single night. It could have been more, but most people just get frustrated with the uber lag and server crashing down that they simply log off for the night.
