does anybody else get bills like this ? im stuggling to make money due to it costing me a minimum of 100k everytime i repair at rank 16, most of my items are rank 1-6 becuase i havent had chance to spend hours searching retainers but i didnt think it would cause repair prices to rocket this bad

Are you talking NPC repairs?

You aren't supposed to repair with the NPC repairer.

Have a crafter repair it for you. It costs literally a fraction of the price (See: Less than 1k if you find someone nice)

Troll. With LV 1-6 items, the maximum he's going to pay is like 2k.
Unless he chose to equip some LV 42 piece, there's no chance he'd pay that much.

While this game does seem to discourage any socializing, you can still talk - at least enough to direct someone's attention to your bazaar filled with stuff that needs repair. Although my main source of repairs come from myself or linkmates, there are times I need to seek others to fix my stuffs.

My strategy involves going to the "crafter cluster f***" typically located near a repair NPC. After placing the items that need attention in my bazaar (and offering a fair compensation for materials and service) a simple message in auto-translate will suffice, something along the lines "Leatherworker, Weaver, repair, can you do it for me?, bazaar". 95% of the time I can get my stuff fixed in under 10 minutes this way but if not you can always resort to sending private messages to players who are high enough to repair your items although you may have to either provide the item you need to repair or offer additional gil for special service.
