I am having a great time this morning. Killing stuff left and right having a blast. Then I finally fight some challenging foes. I was excited! Get to finally fight stuff that takes longer then 30 seconds to kill. But I have this dilemma and maybe a few of you have ran into this. What is the point of stamina? I ask this sarcastically cause I can't ever burn through it fast enough due to ability lag. I click guard... wait 5 seconds guard goes off.. I click bloodbath wait 5 more seconds... then click my spinstroke and wait 5 more seconds.... It seems the lag time between the server and my ability selection has a higher rate then my stamina generation. Sometimes I can click an ability and my bar will gray out for about 10-15 seconds. lol, When you have to use guard every time it falls it can get frustrating when you cant raise your shield.

yes.. I know what stamina is for. Its more me complaining on dieing a dozen of times due to ability lag. (If only my second wind would have gone off...) Was anyone able to overcome this? I didn't even think the server was that busy this morning. Not very many people around.

It's irritating, but would be nice to be able to click abilities and have them actually execute. :)

Remember that you don't need to click on your skill to activate it; you can simply press the corresponding number button on your keyboard.

That said, there is a bug where an action will not execute and grey out, yet in reality, it's actually still white and ready to go IF you activate it again. There are also instances where there is real lag that prevents you from using a skill until the server is ready, but this usually also occurs in tandem with the monsters NOT hitting you either due to server lag.

In my opinion, stamina simply means you have to be on your toes more often, since you can't simply auto-attack, and basically it's a mini-survival game at times...do you use Second Wind first when nearing death? Or use less stamina to cast Cure first?

Sorry for not clarifying. If I clicked my abilities with my mouse I would possibly go insane. I use my keyboard 100% of the time now that i have 11+ abilities. It was too cumbersome sometime ago when I was using my 360 controller for this. Poor mouse never gets any use anymore. lol

Edit: forgot to add my reply. sigh
I see what you mean. I have noticed that I wont attack until the mob has had a turn. Someway I find that to be bad *** (thinking of the old Final Fantasy turn based games) But since this game is more or less real-time its irritating that you have to wait. Very cool, glad I am not the only one.

I doubt what you're concerned with is stamina itself but rather the delay associated with the stamina bar.

In a way this game would be a completely different game without any delay when you press buttons. I'm not even sure what move I'm about to pull out sometimes, e.g. I stop pressing basic attack and start trying to WS, it'll still basic attack 1-2 times before attempting to WS, which might not even happen (due to buttons being greyed out for no good reason.)
Using magic is even worse, sometimes you press the macro nothing happens until you release ctrl/alt and repress the macro and occasionally in laggy areas (GL reset day) it'll start casting and nothing comes out.
If the servers are indeed in Japan then I would have under 200 latency, so it might just be really shoddy optimisation/zero latency compensation.
Honestly, if algorithms are available that make 400 ping feel like 50 these days with optimisation/compensation why does this game feel like I'm playing with 1000+ ping?
