Had a vivo and it could not handle this game, would crash the moment I hit play. Now just order a new laptop and wondering if can handle the game? It better, nothing sucks more than buying a game you can't play. So how is ffxiv? Heard it's kinda fun, beside the wow players who want this game to be more like wow. do the rangers do crazy *** damage like ffxi? I see they had some guns coming soon, I can wait, at least another week till the order here. ; ;

By the sounds of the specifications, that laptop should do fine in Turbo Mode. Just remember to turn off Crossfire as it still hasn't been optimized for the'll get better FPS on a single card.

The game has been slammed by a couple of reviewers, and people are divided among so many things that are fundamentally wrong, missing features, etc, etc. But people are still having fun playing the game, despite these flaws.

Seems this was more a Catalyst problem than an FFXIV problem, and has been solved in the latest Catalyst release (10.9). See

Negative ATI CrossFireX™ scaling on “Final Fantasy-XIV” no longer occurs.

I have a i7-720QM with a single mobility radeon HD 5870 and I can run the game fairly decently at 1080p with high settings. 20 fps at the low end around a crowded aetheryte, 30-60 fps in the field.
