I had heard an LS mate say that there is an EXP penalty for not leveling a second class.

I do know that raising a second class would raise your phys level much faster but i find it unlikely that they would have put a penalty on those of us whom are working one class for now.

Any clarification would be good.

I believe he might be talking about the fatigue system. This slows the exp rate you get from a job after so many hours. But, if you do another class, then you would get a new fatigue lvl for that class. This video explains it a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abE09-tqhoM

Hopefully that is what you wanted!

Yeah, That's what I was guessing. I just wanted to make sure there hadn't been some change or info leak about a real penalty.

There is a restriction called Bonus Experience (formerly known as surplus experience) where if you gain a certain amount of experience or skill points within a certain number of days, it will begin deducting amounts by percent until you're reduced to earning only %10 of the total exp or skill points you gain. (The total amount is added up at the end of the battle and you see a message that informs you you've gained xxx amount of bonus exp which is deducted from the total exp you earned). It starts with only a 10% reduction and continues (as you continue to gain exp/skill) to a cap of 90% reduction. This system resets once a week however and the effect also deteriorates for every hour you go without gaining any skill points on that job. The experience points surplus remains, no matter what job you switch to, as long as you're gaining exp points.

What part of that post stated you weren't talking about bonus experience exactly?

But if you're asking OTHER than bonus exp if there's some kind of 'you don't get as much exp per battle (pre-bonus xp) as someone who has leveled at least one other class' no, no there isn't.

Just above your post there had been mention of the fatuige/bonuss exp system... and I had mentioned that was not what I was looking for.

And since the bonus exp system is not a actual penalty effecting one for not leveling a second class I find it hard to understand why this is continueing to be the assumtion, even after having confirmed that said system was not what I was looking for info on.
