I got 10k crysta, and have already authorized payment for six months. Hmm, Yeah I think I'm gonna subscribe! No regrets, no two ways about it.

Does the game need work? Yes. Are there aspects I find frustrating? Absolutely. Do I enjoy posing questions and then answering them myself? Actually it's not as fun as I thought it would be.

I am having fun with this game. But as a fisher, my attention is only on it when I have a bite on the line. I think it's only gonna get better.

Right now the game is pretty ****, IMO, but I have no problem plunking down the money for it in a few months/years if it actually gets good.

Not me, I'd rather enjoy the game and be 30 levels behind everyone else than suffer through the game for another 30 levels to stay ahead.

Nope.

The £30 I'll save up until 2011 will come in handy for keeping the gf quiet. (I need a new hammer)

I might come back in the new year if things have drastically improved. But I find that unlikely, since SW:TOR is set for release in March.

And after playing through SW:KOTOR 1 and SW:KOTOR 2 (with the fan made patch)... I'm more excited about SW:TOR than a man whose trousers are full of weasels.

yes. I'm having a great time. Love the game. love the community and friends i've made so far. sad so many people hate it, but expected it. Can't wait till 30 days are over so all the bashing dies down once the people who don't like it move on.

edit: doh, forgot to say that by yes, i mean that I'm subscribing right away.

This is where I'm at. If the patch that is suppose to be released this coming week doesn't address the UI then the game gets uninstalled. I'm giving SE my free month to improve the game. I've already removed my payment information though.

Man,I dunno.

As I put in another post,MY GF suprised me with 2 copies of the CE as an early bday present. But now the game is just aweful, and I don't have the heart to tell her she got me the worst bday present of all time.So now I gotta like, force myself to play it while shes here and tell her like.."ya man this game rocks,I'm so glad you got it for me"...Now my free trials gonna be up and I gotta make a descision.

Maybe I'll get another month.Maybe I'll just like break my computer or something so I can stop playing w/o hurting her feelings lol.Or maybe I just bite the bullet and tell her she got me the worst game ever made.

Well, thats a bit harsh I reckon,it's not the worst game ever, but as far as MMO's go its pretty low on the scale.

I will definitely continue to play. The atmosphere here and the atmosphere in game are 2 totally different things. In game is so positive and fun. Here is so emo and whiny. I feel bad that so many may quit and that may actually make the game a failure when it was going to get good tho. So in short I'm happy the whiners are gonna bail but at the same time when I can't use them for gil fodder and random entertainment and that starts affecting that game that will be kind of sorry and make me hate you whiners more(If that was possible)

Yes. Even with all the technical problems, which I'm well aware of, it still sounds like the kind of game I'll very much enjoy. I can't wait till the PS3 version comes out so I can play.

Like FFXI, I'm sure a lot of the problems will be addressed with time, adjustments will be made, things will be added. A year from now XIV won't resemble the game it is now very much. And in the meantime I've no problem grinding my way through low level stuff, running around, crafting, fishing, etc.

Thanks everyone for posting or voting. I think that a concise poll/survey gives a better explanation to everyone's feelings on the game. Please vote at death's survey post, so that we can continue to get a raw feeling, of users willingness to subscribe monthly.

Also try to keep any flaming or praise to a minimum on this thread. There are plenty of threads out there for that right now :)

Of course don't tell her like that, I mean I'd just tell her the game wasn't as good as you were led to believe. It's not her fault the game sucks, right? She got you the games thinking you'd love them (And you thought you would too) so it's still a great present coz it shows she knows what you like and cares for you, it's just that SE messed up and churned out crap instead of gold. I'd just sit down and explain it to her, there's no point in keeping up a lie.

Right now I have no crysta on my account, and I don't intend to add any until additional retainers are added in. That's my number one issue right now, since the lack of storage space prevents me from really getting into crafting. It also prevents me from leveling other classes effectively, since I can't spare the inventory room for alternative gear sets. So as of right now, I'm not able to take full advantage of what is in the game.

If they add in extra retainers with next weeks market patch, I will subscribe. If they don't add in them, I wont be subscribing until they do. So if it doesn't happen before the 22nd, my account will be closed, and it will remain closed until that part of the game gets patched in.

I'm in the 'see how things go for the rest of the free month before I decided' category. Right now all I'm doing is crafting and its both infuriating me and gratifying me when I manage to (some how) successfully make something.

I've cut down my playing a whole lot to. Just get on for a few leve's (the I tend to end up failing) But if things improve I'll happily get back to grinding.

Maybe

Personally i would love for it to be in the playable state that everyone is grabbing for... but it isn't.

There are no really horribly big issues about it but the amount of small annoyances driving people crazy seems to be huge. Little things like the UI, the market being unbelievable hard to sell/find things etc. I'm all for a game that requires you to think but i am not looking for another timesink like FFXI, as much as i love that game too.

So if i keep reading the patch notes and they fix the stuff that really irks a lot of the player base, yes i will be picking it up and joining the fun. Until then i keep my eyes on the complaints and praise of the game and everything the patch notes gives us.

It's looking like a no unless SE starts making some big adjustments soon. Honestly there really aren't that many bugs in the UI, the way it's implemented is intentional, so I don't actually see them making changes to improve it outside of possibly cutting down on the lag. If they can't do that by November I have a feeling it will never happen.

Will wait and see.

Voted 'Yes' but honestly I'm also feeling out SE's responsiveness. I do like aspects of this game and want SE to improve things.

But if their silence continues into the second month and fixes remain rare or ineffective I'll unsubscribe. Once I make the effort to close out the account (if that's ultimately needed) I probably won't return to SE again, so this is a chance they need to make the most of from my point of view.

I will put what I plan on doing:

If SE implement improvements over the next month I'll probably but the game. If SE don't show any improvements I'll just leave XIV alone for good. Ideally, SE will implement the ideas we've given them before the 22nd October - they do this and I'll but it straight away.

I'm annoyed that SE have, so far, showed no interest in our thoughts/ideas. After all we can only make assumptions based on what we're given. If SE don't communicate with us, what else are we to think.

Improvements will earn my money.

I don't know, they didn't do it throughout the beta testing period. I get the impression it won't start now.

Maybe = the ball is in SE's court right now.

As many of us who criticised SE for the flaws in the game mentioned in other threads, we really hope to see FFXIV succeed.

The majority of us are not closing our doors on SE yet, but SE has to show us that they value the opinions of their long-time fans (who have been their loyal paymasters in FFXI for between 60 to 78 months) and come up with concrete plans to improve the current state of the game.

My wife and myself have unsubcribed but, yes, we will definitely be re-subscribing once the UI has been fixed.

Of our FFXI ex-LS mates (all of us are RL friends as well), a couple are waiting for the PS3 release, 7 or 8 others are considering letting their subscription lapse till some improvements have been made (they will make a decision when it's closer to 20th of this month), and about 3 others are past the MMORPGs phase of their lives.

I have already canceled my auto-renewal and will not renew until one of two things is implemented.

1) A searchable bazaar (like EQ had. C'mon SE, this isn't a new concept).
2) An AH

For those who are gonna say something about RMT. No AH or Bazaar hurts players more than RMT.

I will not pay for any game in this shambled state. If I had any hope of getting my money back from buying the collector's edition, I would attempt that.

This game is, at best, in an alpha state of developement.

I might revisit it in a few months, IF there is a better UI, an auction or searchable marketplace and the lag issues are resolved.

I voted: Maybe, I might be willing in the future depending on feedback that I read at a later time.

I won't pay to play the game in it's current state but I want desperately to love this game and I am more than willing to give it another chance if they fix a few things. I just can't justify paying for the game as it stands now. The subscription fee is not much money, but I can do a lot of other things with that money that I would find much less frustrating than playing the game as it is now.

If, within the next week or two, they implement a workable system of finding anything in the market without spending hours searching bazaars and retainers I may go ahead and subscribe right away. If not... I'll probably just cancel and sub closer to ps3 release when they should have hopefully fixed a lot more of the issues IF I have heard that there have been improvements.
