Ideas how SE can fix this game.Follow

I personally enjoy Final Fantasy games, and I REALLY enjoy MMO games, so I really don't want to see this one die!
So here is my opinion on what SE probably should do to save this game, and potentially their Final Fantasy brand.

They need to recall all the unsold copies of this game. Put this game back into BETA stage, give everyone who already bought the game access to the beta (and not charge them again for the game when they RE-RELEASE IT). Take feedback from the community (I know this is hard for you SE). Then set the release date for the PC version the same day as the PS3 version. Also, I think they should openly apologize to people who did buy this game expecting a whole lot more than given. What they are doing now (not saying anything to anybody) is making things worse for them. They should have realized that MMO's are 100% community based. If the community doesn't like it the game fails.

I honestly would gladly give SE and FFXIV another chance if they decide to TRY and make things right, if they don't well I think myself and thousands of other people will not support this game after the first free 30 days.

Please post any ideas you have for fixing this game on this thread, by some miracle maybe SE will do something. I also posted this in the feedback section. This is a long shot, but hopefully the little mans voice will finally be heard!

It's not going to happen.

The best we could hope for is another free month of gameplay.

SE is notorious for distancing themselves from the public, and more than likely they'll continue to ignore feedback from all sources.

Could start by firing the devs.

Honestly I think this might be the only solution. They evidently did not change their ways from FFXI despite saying that they learned a lot. SE should just move the FFXI team to FFXIV; FFXI saw dramatically good improvements when the old FFXI team left for FFXIV.

It's true, sadly SE's only motivation in their MMOs is their 'vision' of what the game should be. Any and all customer feedback, be it NA, EU, UK or JP, is roundly ignored. Thankfully they've put a new team in charge of XI recently that clearly does not share the same vision of the game as the old team, which is now the team in charge of XIV...

Fire the upper management for pushing to release it now. Not going to happen but if I was above them and I saw horrible reviews like this my first words would be "Who green lighted this release?".

they should just scrap the game now, let us all be ****** off short term over wasting our money buying the game, and just walk away with their heads down, instead of dragging this out for the next couple of years keeping us all sitting here with false hope, and just ******* us all off even more in the long run...

Not going to happen ever. The sheer amount of money lost would be massive. Not going to happen. They are going to push for it to survive in anyway possible and fix things. Even if the game only has one server until they fix the game it will stay up. They need the revenue to help overcome costs.

They "Did" release the patch notes for the first big update on live a week before beta ended. (Most things they ARE listening to actually) Its the lack of communication from SE NA and lost in translation BS going on. The update has massive amounts of fixes. Basically 98% of all complaints were being addressed. So im sure most of them will come next week with the AH update. The games not going to die lol...This happens every time a new game comes out. And then the sky is falling QQ follows. I find it so funny all the complaints... This has been the most stable release in years. Most games would have been shut down for days n weeks patching constantly due to publisher pressure to release. I think the biggest hurt has come from miscommunications or west vs east mindsets. (Like the xp penalty) No quests, the UI, etc... There all very FF11. Its got a big curve starting up. (But omg every freaking things people QQ about is available in the game if you read!) Shortcuts etc... There not another MMO clone. Whats with everyone expecting every MMO to function like wow; yet cry about how its a wow clone when its out. Everything graphics, patching, problems there are ways around ALL of them. Instead people say oh, its not optimized, it takes 4 steps to do this and that. (Although yes, AH, some kind of storage system, inventory organization, menu lag, there are some things you think wtf about; but thats being addressed.) Most other complaints are just people getting a game that doesn't play the way they "Expect". **** up to 2 1/2 years ago Wow didnt do half the stuff it has now. FFXIV will be fine. (Well the crafting system is a lil bonkers to; the tiers of parts vs completed item) and Repairs needs a major tweek somewhere. I read the updates; I dont know why people dont look for them. They are very promising. As for SE (there Japanese and dont care about us? wtf were they thinking. then @ us: **** NA so impatient, and cant learn to discover things on there own. I must say they DID say they want the game to be open and not feed you everything. They want things discovered on there own, or to get people to work together or research online; people complaining about a curve; should research a game more then by its title or on there endless search for the perfect MMO; which will never come.)

It is not an AH update. It isn't even close to an AH. It is naming the wards after categories of items. Sure, it'll be a big improvement. Instead of going through 300 bazaars to try to find the item I want, I can stop after 50. Yet, it is not even close to an AH.

That's quite a bit of stuff. I'm not nearly as optimistic about SE's ability to patch everything as you are.

First off, it shouldn't require work arounds. Second, there are many things I don't see work arounds for. Where are the work arounds for (plus ones mentioned above):
- SP distribution in parties is still crazy
- crafting tiers are messed up (lvl 21 parts required for a lvl 7 item, really?)
- targeting in parties is pathetic
- battles aren't fun imo. I mostly just spam a couple of abilities in any battle
- crafting isn't very fun either imo. The economy is barely functional and the actual crafting is basically just spam standard, maybe wait if the orb is colored, and use whatever abilities you have when offered. I'm never making a real choice when crafting, the best choice is pretty much always obvious.

I hope the next time the devs come out of hiding to get asked questions that someone actually grows a pair and asks some tough questions rather than the softballs they typically threw with FFXI.
