I have had this problem a lot too - I have usually just been persistant and pushed through, login attempt it 30 times and manage to connect.
However since yesterday I can't access the game at all - I've got a toon I've played, rank 12 conjurer, rank 12 weaver, and a few other lower ranked classes..... So I don't understand why I suddenly cannot connect.
My errors are 30001, 13001, and others. I've filed a SE support request, got a ticket # today and am now waiting - I have no solution. MY only thought is it may be my router.
I've enabled administrator access to the game, opened the port range 50000 to 65534 as according to Lodestone, and disabled my application firewall and windows defender, and I still cannot log in.
It tells me timeout error, so unless its my ISP(Shaw Cable) or router(linksys WRT54G wireless-G, but my PC is wired to it), I have no solution.
It kind of annoys me that I'm paying for a game I'm not able to play, every day costs me money - and I'm not the only one having this problem. Most forums I've read about it have all been during the beta or CE, before sept 30th official release date. It makes me wonder what is wrong, and I just can't find the solution.
I'm hoping that sometime in the next day or so I'll get through and stay online longer than a few hours.
I really need help to solve it - I know its solveable - but......I could only imagine how this problem has affected their potential player base. Perhaps its server congestion, but that still isn't fair to have paying players that can't play because they weren't prepared. I don't really know, I'm just venting now.
