Im still having fun. If I get tired of crafting I go kill stuff and vice versa. I recently emptied my retainer's inv of all the ingots and nuggets and mats and just npc'd them all for fun lmao. I had gil and went shopping. I either made or upgraded all starter weapons and tools and figured I would just basically start all over with inv.

I wish ppl partied more but as it stands now until the game has more content or better travel options it is what it is.

I wish some of the little outpost type towns had more than npcs talking about having shops but you cant buy or sell anything. Some even have guild signs like you will eventually be able to craft there.

Im patient and to pass the time just prepping for when there will be more to do.

I almost have everything to lvl 10 or better and about to hit physical lvl 26. I still wish sp was more than xp gained. Kinda tiresome crafting or gathering and seeing you gained 110 botany sp and 1531 xp lol.

All in all I'm getting what I signed up for and it can only get better.

Patience...young padawan...patience.

dude, nobody likes this game.

the critics dont like it. most of the fans dont like it. even the JP dont like it. my LS and my sister LS dont like it, (out of close to 80 players i can count on two hands how many people ive spoken to that are actually considering playing after the trial)

and then, when we leave, and the markets go into even more sh*t because there arent as many crafters putting out mats into the populous, more ppl will get upset/frustrated/annoyed. and then more ppl wont like it as well.

hey if you want to spend years bent over a random tool pushing enter all day every day, and there are some that do i suppose, then yeah i guess a few of you will be just fine.

the rest of us will leave. no worries, we are just sticking around until the free trial is up and then we are bouncing.

You are provably wrong... clearly

That's all true, but you're speaking too generally. You can't possibly have a sample of enough fans to say that "most" of them don't like it, there are obviously some who do, there are some JP who like it.. Are there a large number who don't? Yes, but consider the terms you're using when you're speaking about groups of people

Prophecy is not a profession choice I recommend for people who are not actually prophets.

You have no idea what will happen in the next few months... for that matter neither do I, that's the beauty of linear time.

And some do, and they will be

Yeah I expect a pretty sharp decline in population right around the 22nd of October.. and then another one around the 30th. It's the time period afterward that the population will begin to draw conclusions one way or the other about the future of the game.

I personally have not bought the game, I played beta, and I monitored the release feedback here and elsewhere and decided not to purchase based on that feedback and my own experiences. Since then I've continued to watch, and participate in discussions about the game and its shortcomings and my original decision to not purchase the product has been solidified in my mind as a good decision. That being said, I by myself do not represent anyone other than myself and am unqualified to judge the decisions of others who may or may not be enjoying the game. We're all different and we all have different preferences when it comes to how we spend our leisure time. Just because some people have chosen to spend their time in a way that differs from me does not make them stupid or somehow less human, it just makes them different, nor does it make me any of those things for disagreeing with them about it.

It really is possible to have a discussion on the game, polarized as the community is on it, without resorting to judgmental name-calling.

Instead of making a new thread, I'd just figure I might as well just post it on here. You know I actually think that all these people quitting are a good thing. Think about it FFXI had Valkurm Dunes to weed out all the noobs and all the people that didn't want to put forth the effort into their characters. Those that got past the dunes, for the most part, were competent enough to understand the game and were willing to persevere through harsh times to get to level 50. From 50, only the truly dedicated made it to 60+. True some of the noobs made it through, but it was a small percentage.

I believe that because this game is kind of easy compared to FFXI in the exp sense, there is nothing to hold back the noobs from getting to level 50+ so therefore I believe that this is a good thing that they decide to quit now. In the end, it'll make it better for those of us that are sticking with the game, and giving it a chance.

Can you imagine a level 50 pug with only that. Nothing to support his character, just level 50 pug. It would be the equivalent of a level 50 Mnk with no sub-job. Would you want to party with that person?

Yes a bit of fanboi-ist but hey it's true.

Has anyone noticed the whole "I quit" or game bashing threads are primarily from sock accounts? I'm starting to think people are just doing it to get reactions now... I'm gonna start ignoring these type of threads for now on and suggest the rest do the same.

Actually, Some times I AM having fun. But frankly after playing WoW and FFXI having FUN wasnt always happening for me because of the word "Grind". Then I grew patience.

Some times I am having fun some times I am not, I hated the craft/fishing system in FFXI and actually semi enjoy it in FFXIV. I Know all the problems that it has but until I really get bored of it etc. I will keep playing it.

Just because YOU hate something, I personally hate tennis, golf, cricket and rugby. Doesnt mean they are boring because I find them that way.

It's not a bit fanboyist, it's extremely fanboyist. "Good, I'm glad the game is awful and removes most of the players from the game."

Seriously, why would you possibly want that? You're really grasping at straws here.

What about the professional and amateur critics, metacritic, mmorpg.com, IGN forums, gamespot forums, **** any FF XIV forum? Should we ignore all of that also? Maybe if I bury my head deep enough in the sand then I can pretend the whole world loves the game and then... and then let me tell you.... that's when the good life will start.

Aren't you bored with the forum yet?

Quick make another troll thread. This could be fun all day!
#65KristoFurwalken, Posted: Oct 11 2010 at 9:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If the game is so awesome why are you guys trolling the troll threads and not playing FFXIV. Prolly cause forums are more fun than that **** of a game.
#66HMCorpsman, Posted: Oct 11 2010 at 10:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) dont let the low post count fool you, ive been on these boards for a while now.
#67HMCorpsman, Posted: Oct 11 2010 at 10:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) and btw... when i say "everyone" i would think that 99% of the people here can guess where/why/how i say that. when im hearing complains on literally every site that is FFXIV related, included major and "fan-sites", that even spills over to in game where i see almost more complaining/cursing/"why this/that/the others?"... i can be as general as i want. just because 10% of the people playing this game have no gripes about it, doesnt mean take away from simple facts like this game DID recieve some of the lowest scores not only on our top review sites but top foreign sites as well.
#68HMCorpsman, Posted: Oct 11 2010 at 8:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) lol, i love getting scored sub par by people who would rather just make me go away than state an opinion or fact.
