Trying Reeeeeeeeally hard to enjoy the game just a bit, overlook the flaws and play it. I don't like crafting, simply because it's not my cup of tea. I would rather go out and hit things and cast magic on them. Problem is, I'm finding it hard to find a exp camp. I've got 6 Anima right now and that's it, walking from city to city to do guildleves is just completely impractical and not worth the small amount of exp/skill points they give really. I did find a good camp for level 12 but once I dinged 13 on my disciple of war class the exp died out.

As I said, I'm level 13 and looking for a camp. I've found that dodo's are great for my level but they seem very sparse and the few areas they pop up in, on my server, they are quite camped. So, sitting around trying to get Dodo's like they are NM's and killing about 1 every 10 minutes or so is not my idea of fun. I've tried several different camps throughout the Ul'Dah and Limsa Lominsa area (that I know of).

Can some one please kindly tell me where I should go? Is the game really going to be as grindy as say L2? Or are there any camps, anywhere, that aren't super overly camped and crowded that actually have a decent collection of mobs that give decent skill points for X-Level? Looking for camps 13+

Thanks for any help.

Well,I played FFXI for along time and that game was the definition of GRIND.So I expected that in this game, and was't bothered by the prospect.

But they said they designed it so that we don't just pick a spot and camp,we will have to be mobile. And run around from place to place. That seemed ok to me at first too,but the mob distribution it just poor at best.In the Ul'Dah area you can run across vast areas for 2-3 minutes w/o seeing a single mob.And the mobs your level ads alot of times in a small pocked around a bunch of mobs either too low or too high.Just horrible.

So to answer the question about camps,in short no,theres no good ones. There are some OK camps I've found.Dodo's and Copper Coblyns are prolly good at ur lvl and I had a good spot is around "Camp Drybone".Just to the SW of camp,NW and to the NE all the way to the Black Shroud border.Theres also a few Thisletail Marmots sprinkled in with them for when you're waiting on repops. But IMO by far the best thing I've found to date to kill were the Coblyns, they go down in 2-3 hits and give good xp and sp.

It's all about the caves, respawn times in caves are nice. I wouldn't bother running around open areas trying to grind. Pick a zone that's appropriate for your level and go looking for caves.
