I know there seems to be many who love or hate this game. For those who are still unsure, would anyone please post some Pro's and Con's past level 10. Please don't turn this into a rant thread, I just want there to be info for those who are undecided or looking to start this game so they can maybe be informed.

Well can you elaborate or how it gets bad 20+? What have you found are the pros and cons?
What do you like and don't like?
Is soloing or duoing possible post 20?
Do you have to have a party post 20?
Little things like that for starters.

I guess try and compare to FFXI. They are two games and the dynamics will obviously be different, and should be. Just to give persepective to what people are used to and what is to be different weather it is good or bad. Analyze YOUR personal exp.

It's just like any other MMO. The higher you get the more is opened up; ability, areas, storylines, items. I know guildleve 10~ is alot different from 1~10 because of the mobs have different tactics. Also from what I'm told party play start to come into play past 10.

These are good questions, and I'd like to know too. Not just "leves are harder", but how the mechanics of the game work as you reach higher rank.
- It it viable to solo all the way to 50?
- If you need to be in a party, how big of a party is realistic?
- How long is it taking to get a rank up once you hit, say, the 30s?
- Any not immediately obvious issues - e.g. armor damage becomes more of a hassle and armor needing to be repaired too often?
- Does it get more/less fun at higher level?

This game seems like FFXI in respect to XP gained. In FFXI, XP was capped at 200 per mob (slightly raised a certain level points) through the entire game. In FFXIV, I'm noticing that even though I'm higher level, I'm still getting the same XP (sometimes less) as I was at level one.

It is viable to solo to 30, which means almost 100% viable to solo to 50, or at least late 40s.

The best party now is 2 healers and 1 or 2 DDs

At 27 it takes me a approx a day to solo to the next level if i grind non stop (wake up at 12, grind till 5am). So lvl 30, it will take approx 2 days if you don't use leves or behests

Weapon needs to be repaired every 6000 or so exp when solo griding. for a 26 mrd axe this costs 22k each time. Averaging at 100-150k for weapon only per level. Armor tends to last 1-3 levels mid 20

it gets A LOT less fun. Its repetitive and boring. New abilities for the most part are useless. The decapitation system doesn't work solo (or at least i havent managed). theres not enough inventory for the massive amounts of drops so you just stop npcing and always have full inventory.
Over all the game starts to suck hardcore around 20. If you want to have fun level all your jobs to 20 for now untill they fix it.

Also lvl 30 leves are really fail. A lot of them have the "final" mob spawn in a room with a bunch of lvl 30-35 mobs which 2 or 3 shot you meaning they are pretty well impossible to do without a lvl 30 in your party or dying multiple times and luck. Also a lot of necrologos leves are pure luck, and you can have a perfect run and lose.

partying is your best option post 20 but its still insanely pointless and boring.

At rank 25 you need 30000 Skill Points, assuming you get 100 skill points and 1 min per mob, it will take you roughly 5h MINIMUM (big word there) again MIIIIIIIIINIIIIIIIIIMUUUUUUUUM, grind is bad that is all.

post 25 you rarely get 100 sp a mob. more like 50-80. and then you have to heal. so you end up with approx 2000 exp per hour (ironically the same as casual solo in ffxi) just with MUCH more exp needed.

It's insane the amount of skill points you need per rank after rank 20. not fun grinding 5 hours+ for 1 rank when the same time spent I could have gained quite a few levels in FFXI.

Coming from the closed Beta 3.

I find that after level 15, combat becomes way more interesting, and leves start to differ from each other. Now back in the closed beta, leveling up seemed much more easier to do than it is currently. I personally like a methodical pace to leveling up, but for amount of content in the game at the moment, the grind is missing much of the milestones that FFXI had.

I personally love it when my group struggles greatly during leves, so i am excited for the challenges of the higher level guildleves.

I've been meaning to ask but didn't really want to create an entire thread for it, but - have they added any form of endgame since beta phase 2?

no endgame

and no real variation in leves. Only new leve at 30 leves is necrologos and its pretty well just a repackaged normal leve with some luck.

Faction leves are a -bit- more unique... SOMETIMES.
