When you gain physical levels, you are given a fixed amount of points to distribute to both your attributes and elemental points.
* Strength affects how hard your character hits with melee
* Vitality affects your defense and total hitpoints
* Dexterity affects a players accuracy
* Intelligence affects how effective magic spells are
* Mind affects your elemental resistances and MP pool
* Piety affects magical accuracy

Nice of SE to put that info in the manual, wasn't it? /sarcasm
Oh, wait, did I say manual? That's right, there is no manual, just a quickstart guide that has incorrect information (like what to click to set up an account).
Se just gives us the product, and expects us to be experts on how to do things that they made so 'innovative' that no one knows WTF to do.

You know you've been playing too many MMOs when:

You pass a cop and wonder if it 'Agroed' you.
Another car passes you, you attempt to /follow it.
You use your "push to talk" key while talking on the phone.
Text-based games You put a /s before every message you type in an IM (or equivalent / command)
(I have done all)

You shouldn't troll people with good questions. No one has done any legitimate research on the subject yet to confirm or deny the OP's question as far as I know of. Most likely the answer is no, but I am testing the base stats to see exactly what effects they have on any battle related phenomenon.
