Gridania vs other areas.Follow

I started in Gridania since everything made sense for me, Elvaan, Archer, Botanist, Woodworking and so forth. Got myself to the mid teen levels, got to a point where I needed certain materials, gear, etc. So I decided to search some bazaar's, not much luck, 95% are selling utter junk. So I decide to travel to Ul'Dah and Limsa, and find tons of different things I need, regardless of craft, it just all seems to be there, and significantly more things of a higher level.

Why is Gridania littered with lower level stuff while those two other cities seem to have everything I'm looking for? Is it the fact that the more "Expensive" guilds are found there, and just have higher level players, or... it's frustrating constantly having to travel there to get anything half decent.

Because we are backwards and swing from the tree's :)

Seriously though, i think its because Ul'dah is central to both cities, but most people tend to stay around Limsa and Ul'dah while us backward folk stay in the tree's and when we venture of gridania out we tend to stay out. at least thats what i've found with most of my LS

Man I can't stand the Gridania starting areas, they drive me insane. I would rather huge a cactus than have to level there.

ul'dah and LL are very close to eachother, gridania is a huge boring run of repeating terrain. Main reason why you can find stuff easier in those 2 cities, theres a lot more traffic.

I picked Gridania as it seemed to have the hardest map. I wanted a foresty area (Like Windy) but honestly LL has a better surrounding forest feel IMO. However, if things roll on like they did in XI... I'll be able to navigate the toughest maps later on while those from LL and UD complain ^^

Seriously though I have had the same experience. The other cities just have a larger population, but you know what? We get moogles! So it's worth it.

I hate the NPCs in Gridania. It's like San d'oria all over again only with hippies instead of french people. And that makes it much, much worse.

And those kids with the horns, I just hate, hate, HATE them. I'm not sure why, but they just make me /rageface for some reason.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Grinding in Gridania is a pain as well theres not many spots there to find a spot were lots of mobs spawn like in Limsa and Uldah. Plus you run more in grid to find a mob than in the other 2 places most people acumulate in those for that other reason as well

Well, Uldah in exactly in the middle between cities. RP wise its also supposed to be the one with the vast market, so they played it well. If it makes you feel better, its easier to exp at gridania since it has less players.

Except ul'dah isnt "exactly" in the middle. Its a 5 minute run (and a 15 minute afk/read/smoke/drink/food break) from LL, and a 20 minute boring run of doom from Grid
